Seeing Your E-Type For The First Time

When Robert Alfonso was drawn as the lucky winner of our Jaguar E-Type through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, its restoration wasn’t quite finished.
As the competition sold out more than a month early, there was still some work to be done before the car was ready to be delivered. However, so Robert didn’t have to wait any longer, we invited him to the workshop so he could finally get to see his E-Type.

Home Away from Home – Our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 heads cross-country to its new home

Our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5, which was won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, has made its way across the country this morning to its new home nestled deep within the Cotswolds.
The car, which is now the pride and joy of new owner Robert, has been safely put into storage with plans to bring the car out for a few winter weather road trips in the coming months but returning to its dry, warm home afterwards.
We wish Robert many happy miles with the car and look forward to seeing the adventures it finds itself on.
Investigating A Rattle

Our 1968 Jaguar E-type is getting close to being ready to be delivered to its new owner, who was lucky enough to win this incredible classic through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Before it leaves us though, classic car technician Steve has been making sure everything is as it should be.
While Steve was working on the car, he noticed a rattle coming from the front end. After investigating, he removed the nearside headlamp and indicator to access the loose bolt on the electrical junction box which was the cause of the rattle.
Getting Ready For Its New Owner

Our very special 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 project is coming to the end of its time in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop.
Classic car technician Brian has been working on the interior of this beautiful classic, that will soon be on its way to its new owner who was lucky enough to win our E-Type through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Brian made the dash side tray supports and fitted them to the side of the radio panel. The radio panel was then put back in the car.
The metal front edge of the dash trays was trial-fitted before the covered trims were fitted to the dash trays and bolted together. The under-dash tray was then installed making the interior of this very special competition car look beautiful and almost ready to go to its new home.
A Winning Visit

Back on 22nd August, Robert Alfonso won our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 when his ticket number 878 was randomly drawn as the winner.
As our E-Type sold out in just a couple of weeks, it was drawn much earlier than scheduled. The live draw was actually meant to take place this past Tuesday (12th September). As it sold out so early, the car wasn’t quite finished and ready to go.
However, we didn’t want to make Robert wait any longer before he got to see his very own E-Type so we invited him to the workshop so he could see it for himself.
Robert spent a couple of hours with the team here, not only admiring the new addition to his garage but also the other stunning classic cars we are currently working on. He even got a short drive with Bridge Classic Cars Director, Gordon too.
As you can see from the photos below, it was a great visit and we are very much looking forward to our E-Type leaving the workshop and being delivered to its new home.
A Big Morning For Competitions

Molly and Freddie had a great time finding the winners of these 2 classics. Both were sellouts and the E-Type actually sold out more than 30 days early! As our biggest-ever competition, it’s very exciting to see our beautiful classic Jaguar soon leave the workshop to join its new owner.

This is our biggest-ever competition and one that we are extremely excited about. The Jaguar E-Type is one of the most recognisable and iconic classic cars. Even Enzo Ferrari himself described it as “the most beautiful car in the world” so this is an amazing opportunity to win your very own piece of automotive history.
Our E-Type came to us as a stalled restoration which is being completed by our team of classic car technicians ready for it to be won by its lucky new owner.
Chrome Fitting

As the time gets closer to our biggest competition to date, our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5, going live on the Bridge Classic Cars Competitions website, work has been picking up pace as the restoration comes to an end.
One of the latest jobs to be completed was done by workshop manager John as he fitted the window chromes.
As we move into the finishing touches phase of the project, these little jobs go a long way in making our E-Type look as good as we know it will.
All Hands On Deck

Our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 has been a big focus for the workshop team lately, as they work hard to get it ready to be unveiled at the Festival of Classic & Sports Cars at Helmingham Hall at the beginning of August.
Classic car technician Brian has continued his work on the interior of this incredible competition car. His attention was on the boot boards and multiple interior panels. Brian also fitted the ashtray before re-covering the gear shift cover. A rear folding seat was fitted too.
While Brian was focussing on the interior of our E-Type, workshop manager John was also working on the car. He fitted new tailgate stays, assembled choke parts, and freed off and greased the window regulators. Once this was all done, he got to work wiring up the dash.
Interior Progress

Classic car technician Brian has continued to make great progress with the interior of our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5.
The boot boards have been trial fitted and foam was added to the side sills. Vinyl and sound deadening were also fitted in the same area. Carpet has been fitted throughout the car too.
Brian needed to put a crease in the kick panels so they could be bent at right angles and installed. The rear seats have been fitted as well as various other panels inside the car like the wheel arch interior panels.
There has been a lot of interior work completed by Brian on our E-Type and, all being well, it will soon be ready to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Getting Competition Ready

You won’t have to wait too much longer until you will have the chance to win our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Classic car technician Brian has been doing lots of work on the interior of what was once said to be “the most beautiful car ever made”. He has fitted a new cover to the cubby box lid as well as doing an impressive job of fitting the headliner too.
Brian went on to stick the dodo mat sound-deadening panels to the floor, transmission tunnel, and under the rear seat. The chrome channels of the rear seat were cleaned and rubber strips were made and fitted to these.
While Brian was working inside our classic E-Type, John was fitting the boot stay.
Work continues on our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 and we are looking forward to keeping you updated on its restoration progress.

Interior Of Our E-Type

Classic car technician Brian has been working on the interior of our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 as it continues to move through its restoration journey before being won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Now that the exterior paint work has been completed, the beautiful red interior will complement it perfectly. Brian has been working on the seats, some of the chrome trim, and the cubby box.
The next big update on this special competition is coming very soon and we are very excited to share it with you.
The Rebuild Continues

The rebuild of our competition 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 has continued recently with more work being completed.
Having an E-Type as a classic car to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions is an exciting project and we are very much looking forward to it being won by its new owner in the near future.
For now, though, the installation of the chrome work has begun, and the lights have been fitted. The dashboard installation process has also begun.

E-Type Dash

Classic car technician, and workshop manager, John has been rebuilding the dash of our very special 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 competition project.
Once this iconic classic car has been fully rebuilt, it will be the biggest competition we have ever launched through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions as the car will be available to win.
Before that though, work will continue on the rebuild of our E-Type project.

The reassembly of our very special 1968 Jaguar E-Type has well and truly begun. With the engine going into the future competition car, it has certainly taken a big step in the right direction for it to be won later this year.
The wiring has also been progressing ready for the rebuild to carry on over the next few weeks.
This will very likely be one of our biggest competitions to date and we are extremely excited to see our E-Type continue to make good progress towards being won by its future new owner.

E-Type Progress Continues

Classic car technicians Chris and Mauro have been continuing their work on our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5. Our interactive competition car is making good progress and it’s great to see it getting another step closer to going live on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions in the next few months.
After spending some time in the paint shop, our E-Type has now had some of its interior components painted as well as the body being primed and several parts of the body sanded ready for paint.

A Special Project
February 28, 2023
A very special project has recently arrived at Bridge Classic Cars in the form of our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5
The former owners of the vehicle were restoring it but, unfortunately, the project had stalled. Now it is with us though, we will be starting work to finish the restoration and bring this beautiful classic Jaguar back to its former glory.
We will be completing paint remedial work, reassembling the vehicle including rebuilding the engine and gearbox, as well as fitting a new interior.
Rebuilding an E-Type is special enough, but what makes this project extra special is that once complete, the plan is for our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 to be a competition car through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
There is obviously a lot of work to do before that can happen but, if winning an E-Type is something you would love, it will be well worth the wait.
