Our Morgan Delivered

Our 1972 Morgan 4/4 was safely delivered to its lucky new owner, James, who won it through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.

After being strapped into our covered trailer, it made the three-and-a-half-hour trip to Warwick. Our driver Tony enjoyed the scenery en route and was very pleased to see how excited James was to receive his new car.

Exhaust And PDI

Jonn has been completing his work on our 1972 Morgan 4/4.

He has: Fit new exhaust tailpipe. Mock fit and align mount. Mark position and remove. Centre pipe larger bore. Cut slots in end of centre pipe and refit tailpipe. Clamp up centre joint and check. Remove and add sealer to pipe and refit. Secure mount at rear and tighten clamp. Run and test, ok. Finish pdi.

Carry out road test. All seems ok when warmed up. Check anti freeze, zero. Drain some coolant and top up with anti freeze. Run and test.

New Roof Panel

The old roof panel on our 1972 Morgan 4/4 was badly damaged and beyond repair. The hood was also very tight, making it hard to put up, especially on your own. Lydia inserted a new panel and added an inch onto the depth, making it much easier to put onto the hood frame now.

Uniquely & Proudly British – 1972 Morgan 4/4

The Morgan 4/4 is undeniably and unapologetically British. It is one of the most timeless and nostalgic designs to grace the roads across not only this island, but the world at large. From its earliest days, the companyโ€™s DNA has run strong through each of the models combining a beautiful blend of craftsmanship, style, and nostalgia.

From its introduction in 1936 and onwards to the modern day, the 4/4 has been a mainstay of the Malvern masterโ€™s arsenal โ€“ Just like this one, our 1972 Morgan 4/4.

With the classic pairing of Midnight Blue paintwork alongside a black cabin, our 4/4โ€™s beauty is highlighted by the limited use of chrome across the flowing, elegant lines of the car and its satin grey wheels. The carโ€™s long and signature handmade bonnet, stretches out from the driverโ€™s seat, with the tops of its rolled arches allowing you to perfectly place this sports car out on the open road, but some may have noticed that this bonnet is not like others โ€“ this one has a new intake and hints at the sportier life it has led.

Supplied new in 1972 by I & J Macdonald in County Durham, our 4/4 is fitted with the signature Ford 1600cc crossflow 4-cylinder engine and has been developed to make this nostalgic sports car feel more modern in terms of performance. With a set of twin Dellโ€™Orto 40 carburettors working in conjunction with a sports cam and a 4-into-1 exhaust, and when set up on a rolling road in 2019 made 117bhp to the crankshaft and 91bhp to the wheels with 120 lb/ft of torque, between 30 and 50bhp more than it originally had.

Included in the vehicleโ€™s history file, which dates back to 1978, are invoices relating to replacements of the aluminium wings and other items as well as the general maintenance of the cars 44 years.

Now is your chance to win this truly sensational, and uniquely British sports car. Get your tickets, dust off your driving gloves, and get ready to take the long way home with our 1972 Morgan 4/4.

A Special Delivery and a Unique Collection

This morning we took delivery of a collection of new cars destined to be won by lucky winners for our competitions as well as our 1938 Vauxhall Wingham Cabriolet being brought back to us safe and sound.

The new cars included a Morgan Plus 4, a Mini 850 Van and a very yellow 1982 Bedford HA Panel Van safely tucked away in the trailer of our friends at EM Rogers.

One by one, these classics were unloaded and taken round to our usual photography spot for us to capture them before they begin their journeys. But, we do like to grab photos of the action!

Along with delivering our classics back to us, EM Rogers were also here to collect a very special car destined for its new owner.

The team have been readying the Riley Stelvio ahead of its journey and today was the day where it would leave our Suffolk HQ bound for a new life since arriving from South Africa earlier in the year.

New Arrival – 1972 Morgan Plus 4

Today, we welcomed a few newcomers to our Suffolk HQ including this beautiful 1972 Morgan Plus 4.

Shortly, it will be assessed and worked on by the team to make sure everything is up to scratch and looking the best it possibly can.
