Though little has been heard of Henrik Fisker since his resignation from Fisker Automotive, he’s clearly been a busy man. He is now a shareholder and designer atย VLF Automotive, a collaboration between Fisker, former GM vice president Bob Lutz and Gilbert Villarreal.
Now VLF already sells a Destino, what appears to be a Karma with a supercharged GM V8 in it. If you can’t beat them, join them, right? Its new car, just revealed at Detroit, is theย Force 1 V10. And it looks amazing.
While VLF says the Force 1 has “powerful, dramatic sculptural exterior styling” and a “luxurious contemporary interior”, it isn’t too difficult to see what this car is based on. Struggling? What if we tell you it’s powered by an 8.4-litre V10? Yes, this is a Fisker take on the Dodge Viper. Which sounds pretty cool.
That body is all carbon fibre, the V10 is up to 745hp and there’s space for two champagne bottles inside. Just the thing at 218mph…
The Fisker design influence is clear through the Force 1, in particular the Karma-aping rear lights. Don’t forget Fisker has some pretty good previous with front-engined, rear-wheel drive design too; as well as the Aston V8 Vantage and DB9, he also designed the BMW Z8. Inside the Viper origins are clearer to see – despite the champagne holders – but it does look more luxurious. Then you’ll see the ‘Force 1 V10’ badge on the back and wonder how on earth it was signed off on such a well designed car.
VLF says the Force 1 will be initially produced in a batch of just 50 cars, with production commencing this April. The six-speed manual is standard with an auto optional. Price? $268,500, or around ยฃ185,000. Grab a manual, naturally aspirated supercar while you still can!
The worldโs best selling roadster ever is very popular with tuners, and its brand-new iteration is no exception.
The fourth generation of the Mazda MX-5 has receivedย Tra-Kyoto’sย not-so-subtle (to say the least) treatment.
Sporting basically the same visual elements that put the small tuning shop on the world map, the ND MX-5 comesย with widened fenders, front and rear bumper lips, side skirts, roll bar, humongous time-attack rear spoiler and deep-dish wheels to match.
As a true TRA-Kyoto street-racer, the project couldnโt miss the JDM tow hook and the symbolic lightening holes on the front fenders. Discreet, it is not, but its makers were always intending to make it look OTT and transform the fun, yet sensible, roadster into something of a track weapon.
No specs have been released yet, so we have no idea whatsoever about whatโs going on under the hood. On the other hand, if it’s meant to be more than a looker, we expect power to have increased substantially so as to light those fat rear tires, something the stock engines definitely won’t do.

KIERON Dyerย has come 4th in I’m A Celebrity 2015.
The former Ipswich Townย footballerย narrowly missed out on tomorrow night’s final, following being evicted in tonight’s show, along with Jorgie Porter.
On leaving the camp, Kieron โ who threatened to quit half-way through โย said: “I came in thinking I’d have a game plan, and it would be easy, but it was tough.
“I’ve never cried so much in my life.”
Kieron formed a close relationship withย Ladyย Colin Campbell in the jungle, and he admitted he was “gutted”ย she left on medical grounds.
He said: “It might surprise people but I’m a mummy’s boy and she was a mother figure.”
He continued: “She’s an amazing woman, and I’m gutted she left on medical grounds because I think she would’ve been a finalist.
“She’s so strong-willed and that’s what I loved about her.”
Kieron also revealedย Ferne McCann‘s feelings for George Shelley aren’t requited,ย despite them planning a date on the outside.
He said: “Ferne definitely has the hots for George, but I’m not sure if he feels the same.”
He is somewhat notorious for his bad boy behaviour during his lengthy stint as a premier league footballer.
But Keiron Dyer has revealed is hoping to alter the public’s perceptions of him when he appears in this year’s series of ITV reality show I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!
Now happily married to partner Holly and a proud father of four, the 36-year-old sports star claims his controversial behaviour is very much a thing of the past.
Beginning his footballing career at the tender age of 18 at Ipswich Town, Kieron’s sporting ability eventually saw him snapped up by Newcastle United at 21 for ยฃ6 million, with the star admitting his accompanying fortune soon got the better of him.
‘I was earning fortunes having grown up in a poor background and you did end up in trouble. But you do mature, you learn from those errors. Now I’m in my thirties, I’m nothing like I was in my twenties, thank God,’ Kieron explained.
The Ipswich-born athlete has been embroiled in his fair share of controversy over the years having been involved in a sex tape and a speeding ban, as well as his infamous fight on the pitch against teammate Lee Bowyer at Newcastle.
But despite his tumultuous past, Kieron believes his settled lifestyle has made him a reformed man.
‘Fatherhood does change you, and just getting older and wiser. It’s a combination of everything – age, being a father, being a husband. I’ve been married a year now, things settle you down,’ he confessed toย The Daily Mirror.
However, Kieron insists he isn’t entering the jungle in a bid to alter the public’s perceptions of him and is instead doing it ‘for my kids and for charity’.
‘When I told my kids I had the chance to do it, I think they want to see daddy embarrass himself on telly, going to do the trials.’
Kieran is donating a fee for the ITV show to the Jude Brady Foundation, which helps families coping with stillbirth and raises awareness of neonatal death.
Occupation:ย Former England football star
Age:ย 36
Phobias:ย I donโt like spiders or snakes but there is no way I am going to look a wuss on the trials!
Biggest misconception you want to dispel in the Jungle:ย Iโd like to change peopleโs perceptions about footballers in general but I know my family and friends know the real me โ and that is what matters
Role in the Camp:ย Definitely not the chef! Iโd like to provide banter to keep us all amused
Miss most:ย Aside from my wife and kids, my mobile phone and not being able to have any control over decisions I make
Dream Campmate:ย Brian May and Kim Kardashian
Celebrities enter the Jungle for many a reason. For former England footballer Kieron, it was to earn some serious dad-points.
โIโm A Celebrityโฆ is a favourite in our house,โ says Kieron. โI watch it with my children and they wanted me to do it. They begged me to go on!โ
It wasnโt just his kids pushing him into it though โ heโs also doing it for charity, donating his entire fee to the Jude Brady Foundation. But Kieronโs up for having a laugh whilst doing some good, with his eye firmly on the role of Camp clown: โI like to stir things up and I am a mickey taker,โ he says. โI will amuse myself and have a banter with everyone.โ Letโs hope theyโre actually in the mood for some laughterโฆ
Ed Sheeran can ditch the L-plates after passing his practical driving test… less than three months after smashing theory.
He might be 24, but as one of the world’s top musicians, it’s fair to say he’s has a busy few years.
But singerย Ed Sheeranย can finally ditch the L-plates after he passed his practical driving test in Ipswich, Suffolkย on Thursday.
The Thinking Out Loud hit-maker took to Twitter to confirm the news, writing to his 15.6million followers: ‘Passed my driving test yesterday, zoom zoom zoom’.
The news was reiterated by driving school Total Driving who took toย Facebookย on Thursday to congratulate the Grammy-nominated star on his achievement.
The post read: ‘Congratulations to Ed S who passed his car test with us in Ipswich this afternoon. Good effort Ed!!!’
The caption was accompanied by a picture of the smiling redhead posing with his certificate in his hands.
Ed’s happy news comes three months after he proudly passed his theory test, and was seen waving his certificate about as he emerged from a test centre in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk.
He was greeted by a small group of fans who he willingly showed his results to, proudly showing off the piece of paper as he snapped selfies with an office worker.
After bidding farewell to the handful of admirers, the chart-topping singer headed to his car with a female companion, possibly his driving instructor.
Ed jumped in the driver’s seat and drove off without divulging whether it’d been a successful test or not.
It’s been an extremely busy few months for the chart-topper, with the Suffolk-born star receiving an honorary degree for his outstanding contribution to music at University Campus Suffolk earlier this month.
It was soon followed by the premiere of his new movie Jumpers For Goalposts, then a presenting stint hosting the MTV EMAs with Ruby Rose in Milan, followed by a cameo appearance in Home and Away this week.
A spectacular mountain road in southwest China has become the new talking point among petrolheadsย after pictures of the mind-boggling motorway emerged on the Internet.
Breathtaking photographs onย People’s Daily Onlineย capture the dozens of deadly hairpin turns on the winding road, which stretches for 3.5 miles (5,757 metres)ย in Xiushan county, Chongqing municipality.
The cliff-side motorway, dubbed ‘Road to Heaven’, has become one of the must-visit destinations for Chinese driving enthusiasts.
The nerve-shredding road is carved into the side of a steep mountain and is surrounded byย luscious greenery.
Elevating from 2,050 feet to 3,855 feet above the sea level, it has an astonishingly 45 hairpins.
The formidably road connects Chuanhegai, a 1,000-family mountain village situated at an altitude of 3,117 feet high, with its nearest town called Pingma.
The local government plans to brand the monster motorway as a main tourist attraction and hopes it will bring more visitors to the remote region.

Classic experts from across the globe share market intelligence on the models gaining in value โ and highlight the ones that are struggling. Market experts from both sides of the Atlantic say prices for 1980s and 1990s modern classics will continue to rise โ and theyโre predicting that cars from the early 2000s will become hot investment tips.
The Porsche 968, Honda S2000 and Mitsubishi Evo are among those tipped by members of a panel assembled by Hagerty International to assess the current state of the market. They also identified that British classics from the 1950s, particularly Ford saloons and Rootes Group models, are struggling to set the market alight.
The price experts also highlighted โ using sales data from the US and Europe โ that investment in the classic market is currently offering a quicker return than either gold or the FTSE100, but while they think a price crash similar to the late 1980s is unlikely they did warn that speculators still had the potential to destablise a buoyant market. The panel also said it expected performance cars from the 2000s to be the next ones to find favour with classic car collectors.ย
Hagerty International managing director Angus Forsyth said: โThe future cars of interest will be those which would beย a screen saver for tomorrowโs collectors โ we call it the Top Gear effect, because we know a wide audience including teenagers enjoy seeing the cars that the show features. Itโs these cars that are predicted to be the next collectibles of the classic car market.โย

Evans, whoย is replacing Jeremy Clarkson as the new presenter for the BBC show,ย has consigned 13 cars to the Bonhams Goodwood Revival Sale including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Evans revealed that he had bought the 1936 Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car, the same model used in the 1968 children’s film, in 2012 and has since restored the 17ft motor which comes complete with multi-coloured “wings”.

Sholto Gilbertson, Bonhams Director of Motor cars, said: “Chris Evans is offering 13 incredible motor cars at Bonhams sale, a stable which includes six outstanding Ferraris.
“Chris has been a long-standing client of Bonhams, so we’re delighted to offer his incredible motor cars at Bonhams Goodwood Revival Sale.
“In refreshing his collection, others will have the opportunity to enjoy Chris’ fantastic cars after all, you never ‘own’ a classic car, you enjoy it, look after it, and pass it on for others to appreciate.”

The Merak’s V6 engine descended from the 2.7 L Tipo C.114, originally designed by Giulio Alfieri in 1967 for use in the Citroรซn SM, that was bored out to 91.6 mm (piston stroke remained 75 mm) to displace 3 litres (2,965 cc).
It was a chain-driven double overhead camshaft, 12-valve unit featuring an unusual 90ยฐ angle between the cylinder banks.
The lubrication system used a wet sump and an oil cooler. This V6 did not end its days on the Merak: it was later modified and made into the first ever production twin-turbocharged engine in the Biturbo, ending its career in the 1990s Ghibli after reaching the highest specific output of any production engine at the time. The powerplant was mounted longitudinally behind the passenger compartment, and joined through a single-plate dry clutch to a 5-speed, all syncromesh Citroรซn transaxle gearbox and a limited-slip differential.

The government has recently issued a 46-page report outlining the registrations that have been withdrawn from issue for risk of causing offence.
It’s a thankless task, over which the licensing authorities have often been ridiculed. But UK number plates have never been intended to represent names or words; it’s just a happy – and valuable – coincidence arising from a random process.
Almost since inception the guardians of the system have had to be on their guard. But times, fashions and language change. Very early on, the sequence ‘BF’ was blocked because of the now innocuous and laughable interpretation ‘bloody fool’.
Inevitably, some howlers have slipped through and it is rare for them to be recalled after the event.BO11ย LUX was released in 2011, then withdrawn, but the owner took on the DVLA and it is now back on the road.
Perhaps the most infamous example is that of the registration PENย 15. The representation cannot be considered offensive on any grounds yet, since it has been in the possession of Regtransfers, it has fallen foul of more than one newspaper publisher reluctant to feature its promotion.
PENย 15 is being offered for sale at online auction until 11.30am Monday 6 July.
Unless they’re your initials, the letters DUK probably won’t mean much to you. But, to fans of the pop group One Direction – and, quite possibly, the members of the ensemble themselves – the registration 1ย DUK says one thing: ‘1 D’ [One Direction] ‘UK’ [United Kingdom]. Consequently, a high price is anticipated when it goes up for auction in Stourbridge, West Midlands, on 6 July.
Of course, the plate dates back to 1963, when it was first issued by Wolverhampton County Borough Council and would be a desirable and distinctive combination in its own right.
Organisers of the sale are expecting the hammer to fall at between ยฃ25k and ยฃ30K. This respectable price is nothing compared to what was paid for the simple 1 D plate, which fetched a staggering ยฃ352,000 in 2009, the year before One Direction were formed.

TV and radio personality Chris Evans will replace Jeremy Clarkson as the lead presenter of an all-new Top Gear line-up, the BBC has announced.
Evans said he was “thrilled” to get the job, describing the motoring show as his “favourite programme of all time”.
“I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward,” he added.
Clarkson was dropped in March after punching a producer while on location.
Car enthusiast Evans, who has signed a three-year deal with the BBC Two show, had been tipped to replace his good friend Clarkson but had previously insisted he was not interested.
An “all-new” line-up means Clarkson’s co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May will not be involved.
The BBC’s David Sillito said that while Chris Evans was a household name, Clarkson had a long-running association with Top Gear and his were big shoes to fill.
When Jeremy Clarkson relaunched Top Gear in 2002 it ceased to be a programme about cars; it became a programme about slightly tragic men who loved cars.
The essence was banter, lists and brilliant film-making. The problem is what happens when you lose the blokes.
Chris Evans is one of Britain’s most successful broadcasters. He loves cars, he understands how to make television and he’s a friend of Jeremy Clarkson. But he ain’t Jeremy Clarkson.
Around the World Top Gear has appeared in different forms. The ones that work best have Jeremy Clarkson – even if he has to be dubbed into Farsi.
“Everything about Top Gear was Clarkson, May and Hammond, primarily Clarkson,” he said.
“We have no idea who Evans will be filming the new series with. It could be one presenter, two, a whole team, or it could be a different set of presenters every week.”
Top Gear is watched by some 350 million viewers worldwide and is one of the BBC’s biggest shows, with overseas sales worth an estimated ยฃ50m a year.
Once the news broke, Evansย tweeted: “First tweet as new Top Gear host. I would like to say Jeremy, Richard & James are the greatest. And NO I’m not leaving the R2 Breakfast Show.”
And in a statement, he said: “I’m thrilled, Top Gear is my favourite programme of all time.
“Created by a host of brilliant minds who love cars and understand how to make the massively complicated come across as fun, devil-may-care and effortless.
“When in fact of course, it’s anything but and that’s the genius of Top Gear’s global success.”
Back in March, Evans had denied that he was taking over the show’s presenting duties,ย tweeting:ย “I can categorically say I am not and will NEVER be running for office. Pls discount my candidacy.”
Controller of BBC Two and BBC Four Kim Shillinglaw said she was “delighted” that Evans would be presenting the next series of Top Gear.
“His knowledge of and passion for cars are well known, and combined with his sheer inventiveness and cheeky unpredictability, he is the perfect choice to take our much-loved show into the future,” she said.
“Chris is a huge fan of Top Gear and has great respect for the craft and work ethic of one of the best production teams in the world.
“He knows the phenomenal attention to detail it takes to make a single sequence of Top Gear, let alone a whole series. He is already full of brilliant ideas and I can’t wait for him to get started.”
There’s a very telling line in Chris Evans’ statement: “I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward.”
The 49-year-old is acutely aware of Top Gear’s reputation – and the reaction his appointment will provoke.
On paper, he’s a perfect replacement for his good friend Jeremy Clarkson. A car nut with a motor mouth and a track record in steering a television juggernaut to success.
But he’s also a divisive figure, with many viewers put off by the unruly, egotistical behaviour of his tabloid years.
Evans even admitted there was a “50/50 split” among Top Gear fans over whether his involvement was a good idea.
However, he added: “In TV or radio, if you get a 50/50 love/hate reaction that usually equals massive hit.”
Only time will tell.
Production on the new series of Top Gear will start in the next few weeks and the BBC said more information would be announced in due course.
Jeremy Clarkson was suspended, then dropped, by the BBC in March following a “fracas” with a producer at a hotel.
His final appearance on Top Gear will be shown on 28 June. The episode will be made up of two films shot before Clarkson was suspended, with Hammond and May presenting links from the studio.
Viewers will see Clarkson, Hammond and May behind the wheel of classic cars and beaten-up 4x4s in their final challenges as a trio.
[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]For sale: ยฃ43 million private car collection.
It’s so extensive they’ve had to open up another day just to flog them all. Ladies and gentlemen, on 13 August 2015 at the RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction, a private collection of 30 cars will be offered up for sale.
What makes this newsworthy however, is that the cars are all part of a single collection – a single private collection, no less – and represent some of the finest machinery men with tools have ever built.
There are such automotive luminaries as the very first Bugatti Veyron, chassis number 001, the Lamborghini Reventon, a 1964 Ferrari 250 LM and a 1998 McLaren F1 LM.
Though RM Sotheby’s has yet to reveal the full list of 30 cars, the value of the whole lot – sold individually, of course, not as a collective – is said to comfortably exceed all previous private car collections sold at auction, which currently stands at over $65.9 million. That’s a cool ยฃ43 million, at the very minimum.
“While many of the world’s most impressive collections were established in the public eye of the car collecting world,” says RM’s Shelby Myers, “the โPinnacle Portfolio’ was assembled with a clandestine, surgical precision unlike any other that has come to market.”
As mentioned, RM has had to extend its Monterey auction, with this collection being sold off during an exclusive, standalone auction.
