The Bridge Classic Cars team have been working alongside our friends at Caterham over the last year on several different projects. The main one, was giving one lucky winner their chance to win one of just 25 Caterham Seven 310 Encores to ever be built and to their own specification.
That lucky winner, was Oli. Towards the end of last year, Oli came down to the Caterham HQ just outside London to begin the journey of his 310 Encore going from idea to on the road. He made the choice to have the car prepped more towards track/fast road use than as a tourer but with some concessions made here and there.
Well, yesterday Oli got to meet his dream car for the first time. His specific chassis is being built by Paul who has taken the project from bare chassis and will go all the way through the cars journey and sign it off just before Oli’s collection. When he went to spec the car, the first Encore had been built.
This particular car sat as inspiration for Oli’s car, choosing the Blue Monday paint scheme and graphics package for his car. But from that point, things change. The one piece carbon seats, the track roll cage, different steering wheels, a wider and lower chassis and some other bits and pieces which will make Oli’s car totally unique.
Rob and Ali from Caterham were there to take him around his car and discusss the next phase the car will be heading into shortly before it is collected from the factory and taken home ‘the scenic route’.
