It’s not just the bodyshell of the 1975 MGB GT V8 thats been getting attention here at the Bridge Classic Cars Suffolk restoration workshops. Our technician Rob, who is heading up the mechanical side of the cars rebirth, has cleaned up and assessed the front cross member of the car. The team looked into finding a replacement piece for time but no replacements were found that the team thought were up to the job.

With that, Rob has completely refurbished with the original tops and bottom gussets cut out in order to be sandblasted. The lower panel wasn’t in the best shape, so the team have fabricated a new piece. With that, when the piece were rewelded into place Rob has completely seam welded the piece for extra rigidity and strength.
