The Bridge Classic Cars workshop team have been cracking on with getting the trims and peices test and fitted to the 1953 Aston Martin DB2/4. To start with, our technician Steve (along with our fabricator Clinton) has been getting the hand fabricated aluminium boot floor trims into the car after preparing the rubber seals.
‘Working on the front bumpers, having to make parts and restore old bits. The new stainless bumpers fit well. The front bumper will be left on the car until I have fitted up the rear to match the spacing then both will come apart for the individual bits to be painted.’
‘I had to make new brackets for the bumper this involved heating and bending the steel, then drilling and elongating the mounting holes for adjustment. I had to cut down the boltson the sides. Small tacks to the bolts to prevent spinning so I can get them tight – a bit of silver paint so they won’t rust before they go together. Next they will come apart and the bits that need paint will go off to the paint shop.’
