As of 1st January 2026, Alpina officially became part of the BMW Group, reintroduced as BMW ALPINA.

While the acquisition of trademark rights was already known, New Year’s Day was the formal beginning of the new brand. BMW ALPINA will operate under the BMW Group umbrella but will have its own identity, both in philosophy and in design.

Known for their mix of high-performance engineering and grand touring comfort, BMW ALPINA vehicles will be built with an emphasis on refined materials, acoustic tuning, and distinctive aesthetics. Customers will also have access to an expanded range of bespoke features, making sure that each vehicle reflects its owner’s personal style without compromising on performance or luxury.

According to BMW, the focus now shifts to “brand activation” (bringing BMW ALPINA into the spotlight). BMW will then look to continue to honour the core values that made Alpina a popular brand in the past.

More information is expected soon.
