Bentley has created a unique Bentayga EWB Azure, specifically to commemorate Remembrance Day and pay tribute to those who served, both within the armed forces and closer to home.

This is the fourth Remembrance Car designed by Bentley, developed by the brand’s in-house design team in collaboration with BeReady, a colleague-led network supporting veterans and reservists. This year’s design honours the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain and remembers 17 Bentley and Rolls-Royce workers who lost their lives during a bombing at the Crewe factory in 1940, where the Merlin aero engine was being produced.

“This annual project is one of the most meaningful for our team, a symbol of our collective memory and the sacrifices made by countless individuals. Every detail of the Bentayga – from the cascading poppies to the gold initials honours those who served and ensures their legacy continues to inspire through the design.”

Robin Page, Director of Design at Bentley Motors

The car is finished in Satin Artica White and has a range of bespoke design elements including a silhouette of an aircraft subtly placed behind the wing vent, from which a trail of poppies appears to fall and grow in size down the side of the car. Gold initials on the pillars pay tribute to each of the 17 individuals who died in the bombing, while the number ‘85’ on the grille and embroidered poppies inside the cabin further acknowledge the anniversary tribute.

“Bentley continues to show its respect and commitment to the armed forces around the world, and our colleagues at Crewe through our Be Ready network. We were proud to be awarded the silver status for the UK’s Armed forces Covenant this year, and this year’s Remembrance will pay particular focus to the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Britain, and the sad loss of 17 Rolls Royce and Bentley colleagues following a bombing of the Crewe site in December 1940.”

Chris Cole, Product Line Director

The car will feature in several events across the UK throughout November. It will appear first in Crewe during Bentley’s internal Remembrance gathering, before heading to the Race of Remembrance in Anglesey, where it will act as the course car during the motorsport tribute organised by Mission Motorsport. On 11th November, the car returns to Bentley HQ, and later in the month, it will be displayed at His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire Awards.
