DB6 Door Parts

Pete began restoring parts for refitting to the door of our 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante. He started by degreasing the mechanisms and stripping rusty parts and brackets in preparation for painting. Once cleaned and painted, the components were carefully bubble-wrapped and packaged to protect them, ready for re-greasing and assembly at a later stage.

The Rebuild Continues

Prep And Paint

Our 1978 MG Midget 1500 has had its bumper, lights, and boot badge removed to allow access to rusted areas, where rust treatment was then applied. Filler work was carried out and sanded smooth in preparation for painting. The car has since been painted, with clear coat applied to complete the finish.

350SL Strip Down

Here are some reference photos of the rear suspension strip down of our 1978 Mercedes 350SL. Along with splitting the diff from the axle, Ben also removed all the subframe mounts so they could be sent off for blasting and powder coating.

More Reassembly

The fuel pump on our 1951 Austin Devon was stripped, blasted, and reassembled with new seals and valves before being refitted to the car. The left-hand horn was refurbished and installed. Bonnet mouldings and catches were also fitted. Additionally, the brake master cylinder was overhauled with new seals to restore its proper function.

Appraisal And Repairs Of Our Classic Mini

Jonn replaced the rotor arm and refitted the distributor cap of our 1968 Austin Mini Cooper S. He then tightened the steering wheel and removed the floor mat from beneath the pedals. Fly Wheel Replacement

The interior of our 1956 Sunbeam Talbot was removed in order to gain access to the gearbox. The flywheel and starter motor were replaced.

Austin Devon Trafficators

Rob continued his work on our 1951 Austin Devon, fitting the starter motor and installing the dashboard with all necessary connections. The trafficators were assembled, fitted, and tested. Headlamps were also fitted.

Raptor For Our 541R

A panel from our 1960 Jensen 541R had its external areas masked before the interior surface was coated with black satin Raptor. The car was then flatted down in preparation for polishing.

Painting An MGB

Once our 1973 MGB Roadster had been masked up in preparation to be painted, Adam applied the first colour – blue. Once dry, this was followed by the application of the silver/gold layer. Once both colour coats had dried, a clear coat was applied to complete the process.

A Tricky Subframe Refit

Recent work on our 1987 Mercedes 500SL involved aligning the rear subframe assembly beneath the car and lowering the ramp to bring the assembly into position.
