The Austin Motor Company has appointed Shortfield Garage Limited in Godalming, Surrey as its newest retail and aftersales dealer. This is the brand’s first official UK dealer appointment in more than four decades.
Now operating under the name Austin Surrey, the dealership will showcase the newly launched Austin Arrow and provide full sales, service, and parts support. Additional models from Austin’s expanding line-up are expected to follow soon.
Shortfield Garage has built a strong reputation since opening in 2009, with a loyal customer base and a commitment to quality servicing, MOTs, and used vehicle sales. Their appointment forms part of Austin’s bigger plan of re-establishing a UK and European dealer network.
“We are pleased to announce the appointment of our first new dealer, Shortfield Garage, to our Austin network, to be known as Austin Surrey. We look forward to working closely with Andy Parsons, Darren Belmore and all the Austin Surrey team as they grow their business under the Austin brand. Austin Surrey is the first of our new dealers to be appointed in the renaissance of the Austin brand with more appointments to come across the UK, into Europe and in markets in which Austin previously held a prominent position.”
Nigel Gordon-Stewart, Chairman and CEO, Austin Motor Company Limited
The new dealership is near the mainline station to London Waterloo, and the new showroom will offer both the brand’s Heritage and Contemporary electric vehicles.
Dealers Andy Parsons and Darren Belmore are leading the operation and bring decades of automotive experience to the new dealership.
“Darren and I have spent many years in the motor industry and having met with Nigel Gordon Stewart and Paul Fox at the Austin Arrow’s debut at the EV show in docklands earlier this year, we were excited about the prospects and the plans for the brand. We are genuinely thrilled about the rebirth of Austin. As passionate fans of one of Britain’s most iconic automotive brands, we are proud to become the first UK dealer. We look forward to growing the Austin brand and helping to write an exciting new chapter in the legacy of this legendary name. With ever growing energy costs and the ongoing challenges to our climate we are delighted to be partnering with a motor brand with such a focus on renewable energy and a greener planet with electric vehicles. We would like to extend a warm welcome to all our future Austin customers to drop in to see us at our showroom on Mill Lane in Godalming.”

The appointment follows the soft launch of the Austin Arrow in July 2025 as part of the brand’s Heritage range. The model has been well received, and Austin has confirmed that further product launches are coming soon.
Originally founded in 1905, Austin remains one of Britain’s most iconic automotive names. After retiring in the late 1980s, the brand is now re-emerging with a focus on modern electric vehicles that remain true to its roots in accessibility and innovation.
