Aston Martin has officially been granted a Royal Warrant by His Majesty King Charles III. This means that, for the first time in the brand’s 112-year history, it will carry the royal arms of the reigning British sovereign.
The news follows formal approval in May 2024 and comes after the College of Arms issued the updated Royal Crest for King Charles. Now, the badge of royal approval will be applied across Aston Martin branding.

Aston Martin’s ties to the Royal Family go back to 1954, when Prince Philip received a three-litre Lagonda. A year later, the Duke of Kent acquired a DB2/4 from the same team that was victorious in the 1955 Monte Carlo Rally. And, of course, perhaps the most recognisable and well-known royal Aston is the DB6 Volante owned by King Charles himself. This was the car seen at the wedding of the Prince and Princess of Wales in 2011.
“Our appointment by His Majesty represents a truly proud and historic moment for Aston Martin, reinforcing the longstanding and esteemed relationship we hold with the Royal Family. Displayed with pride across our branding, the Royal Warrant is a testament to the dedication of our employees and our unwavering commitment to the values of British design, craftsmanship, and engineering excellence. Principles that His Majesty has steadfastly championed.”

The King has been a member of the Aston Martin Owners Club since 1973, and the brand has previously held a Royal Warrant from his time as Prince of Wales. The update to the sovereign’s arms now continues that relationship.
Aston Martin has been a big feature at several royal occasions. In 2020, the King (then Prince of Wales) opened Aston Martin’s DBX facility in St Athan, Wales. Two years later, the DB6 Volante chauffeured The King and Queen to the Commonwealth Games opening ceremony. In 2024, the same car was displayed at an Aston Martin Owners Club event at Sandringham.
A fantastic achievement for Aston Martin!
