Our technician Jon has been busy working his way through the 2008 Land Rover Defender 110 Pickup. After carrying out a full appraisal on the off-roader, he could then begin to move his attention to carrying out the repairs and getting this car back to perfect order.
‘Remove drivers seat base. Cut carpet so access panel can be removed. Check for jack etc. No tools here. Occupancy sensor not connected so connect and refit seat. Check all levels. Both diff oils poor. Drain both axles. Flush and fill with new oil. Check tyres and inflate. Lower to ground to check suspension and torque wheel nuts. Adjust handbrake but adjuster at max. Investigate recirculation flap on heater not working. Flap moves by hand but won’t from control inside. Suspect cable.’
‘Strip and remove front bumper. Remove wiring underneath for old winch. Cut ties and remove. Strip out wiring near battery. Trace more wiring up behind dash. Remove stereo and switches and remove centre dash panel to access wiring. Very messy and poorly done. Tape up bare wires where wires line and now removed. Any excess get rid of. Remove tracker and module.’
