The restoration team here at the Bridge Classic Cars workshops in Suffolk have been diving into the 1972 Volkswagen Type 2 Bay Window. Our technician Jon has gone through the classic camper to check the van over but also carry out small repairs.

‘Continue appraisal to finish. Refit roof rack to front. Cut and fit small pieces of rubber to go between gutter and clamps. Secure roof rack. Raise and inspect. Check gearbox level. Remove wheels and check brakes. Refit rear drums and refit wheels. Tighten engine support bar brackets. Lower to floor and torque wheel nuts. Inflate tyres and refit wheel trims.’

‘Top up engine oil. Lubricate wiper hinges. Tighten battery terminals. Put new jack and brace inside. Glue floor mat drivers side near seat.’
