The newly arrived Land Rover Series IIA has made its way into our restoration workshops and onto the ramp of our technician Jon. As part of the car arriving, Jon carried out a full appraisal on the classic Land Rover and found a couple of jobs to crack on with.
”Remove wheels and check brakes. Clean and adjust. Refit wheels and torque up. Pump pedal and get John to sit inside and operate brakes while I check. Remove grill and tighten steering box top arm pinch bolt. Refit grill. Adjust drivers door striker. Remove throttle connection at carburettor. Drill and tap small hole in bracket and fit nutand bolt. Refit throttle andsecure. Adjust bolt to removefreeplay from throttle. Put 10ltrs fuel in and Anthony road test to the garage for me. Drives better but brakes still poor. Will try bleeding system when it’s had its PDI.”
