At the weekend, Anglia Car Auctions hosted an auction that seems to have generated quite a bit of attention. While there was a huge selection of cars up for sale, there were three in particular that got most people talking. The two Ferraris and a Range Rover in question sold for 6-figure sums, so that should give you an idea of how much interest there was in them.

1994 Range Rover LSE 4.2 V8 Auto

Built at Solihull right at the end of the model’s life, this Range Rover was the most luxurious version of the range before the P38 took over. It has a 4.2-litre Rover V8, paired with an automatic gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive.

The most important part of this car’s story, though, is that it has only had one registered keeper, and has covered just 756 miles from new. It was sold with its original paperwork and finished in Beluga Black with Ash Grey leather. I think the listing described it best when it says it is a“time-warp” example.

Sold for £119,880 (inc premium)

1998 Ferrari F355 F1 Berlinetta

This was a late-production example of one of Ferrari’s most loved V8s. With its naturally aspirated 3.5-litre engine, this one had extremely low mileage and just one owner from new.

The one sold at the weekend was fitted with the F1 paddle-shift gearbox, a technology that was interesting at the time as it brought Formula 1-style gear shifting to road cars. With just 2800 miles on the clock, it got lots of interest during the auction.

Sold for £151,200 (inc premium)

1989 Ferrari 328 GTB

This Ferrari 328 GTB was built near the end of the 328’s production run, and it combines the 3.2-litre V8 with a five-speed manual gearbox. No screens, no driving modes, no distractions, just mechanical simplicity and Pininfarina styling.

Making this one extra special was the fact that it had sat undisturbed in a barn since the 1990s and, as a result, has only covered 891 miles. This makes it one of the lowest-mileage 328s in existence!

Sold for £124,200 (inc premium)

We had 10 of our own cars up for sale at this weekend’s auction, too. It wasn’t quite as successful for us as only three sold during the auction, and two more just after. The remaining five will now be available to purchase on our sales platform, MyClassics.
