A Nissan Figaro Arrives

Late last week, we welcomed this 1991 Nissan Figaro into the Bridge Classic Cars workshop.

It has come in for some interior trim and chrome work, and will obviously be looked after extremely well by the workshop team.

Designed by Nissan’s specialist Pike Factory division, and limited to just over 20,000 examples, every Figaro was produced in 1991 and originally sold exclusively in Japan.

The Figaro design was inspired by 1950s and 1960s convertibles. Beneath its retro exterior, however, lies the dependable mechanical foundation of the Nissan Micra. Powered by a 987cc turbocharged MA10ET engine paired with a three-speed automatic gearbox, the Figaro drives like a more modern car but obviously has the look of a classic.

This particular Figaro is finished in Emerald Green, which is one of only four original colour options, with each one representing a season. Interestingly, from its chassis number, this looks like it was the 105th Nissan Figaro built. That puts it at the very beginning of the production run and could have been one of the very first retail Figaros sold in Japan.

More updates to come soon…
