A 2015 Land Rover Defender 90 Pick-Up that has covered just 124 miles from new, has had only one owner, and has been stored in a weather-tight barn its entire life, is going up for sale with H&H Classics at its Kelham Hall Sale in Newark, Nottinghamshire, on Wednesday 18th March.
Highly Original
Estimated to sell for £50,000–£60,000, the Defender is obviously as original as you can get. It was specified in a “back-to-basics” manner, with non-metallic paint, cloth seats, steel wheels and a manual gearbox. It still has its factory-applied dealer allocation windscreen sticker in place, showing how untouched it actually is.
Registered in 2015, it’s one of just 334 Defender 90 Pick-Up TDs recorded by the DVLA that year. 2015 was the final year before production of the separate chassis Defender came to an end; so this short-wheelbase ‘90’ with its full-length canvas tilt carries that extra bit of history with it.
Despite barely being driven, it has been serviced twice and regularly MOT’d, so it’s been very well cared for.
Bought For Nostalgia
The current owner purchased the car as a tribute to the Series 1 Land Rovers he grew up around, and the only reason it’s now being offered for sale is because he holds even stronger sentimental connections to other Land Rovers on his farm.
An interesting thing to think about is that whoever the new owner is will have a tricky decision to make as to whether they finally complete the running-in process, or preserve its condition exactly as it stands.
Auction Details
The Defender will be offered for sale at the Kelham Hall Sale. Viewing takes place from midday on Tuesday 17th March and from 9am on Wednesday 18th March, with the auction beginning at 12pm.
Bidding can be done in person, online, by telephone or via commission bid.
