As the owner of our 2005 Honda S2000 was collecting their car from the workshop today, I thought it only right to take one last round of photos in its finished state before we said goodbye.
Our 2005 Honda S2000 has continued its stay in the Bridge Classic Cars paintshop. While in there, Chris has been undersealing the underneath of the car.
Various parts of our 2005 Honda S2000 were in the Bridge Classic Cars paint shop recently.
Technician Chris stopped the paint on the engine cover before painting in wrinkle paint and sanding it down to expose the writing. The headlights were also sanded down with 800 1000 1500 3000 and 6000 sandpaper and then it was polished up.
Brian then refitted the plastic trims back into the car.
After being painted, our 2005 Honda S2000 was put back together by technician Chris.
Once Chris had put the majority of the bodywork back together, Brian worked on fitting the roof and interior trim. To do this, Brian connected the electrical cables, fitted trim around the rear edge of the roof, and fitted the rear tray and centre console. He then fitted the plastic trims around the roll bars, fitted trims behind the seats, and fitted the seats before using mastic to bond the plastic trims together around the roll bars.
Chris has been working on our 2005 Honda S2000 in the Bridge Classic Cars Paint Shop.
After prepping it for paint, he then gave the car a fresh coat of colour, along with various components that will eventually be put back onto the vehicle.
Soon to arrive at the Bridge Classic Cars workshop is a 2005 Honda S2000.
While it is with us, it will be assessed for corrosion before going into storage and eventually have some paint work completed too.
Bridge Classic Cars have been working on a bit of a modern classic recently. This 1998 Honda Integra Type R has previously had a list of metal work done to it by our in-house body shop along with a full engine bay clean up and resprayed in its factory Championship White.
Now though, it is time for the back and the top of the car to receive the same treatment. The rear quarter panels needed some attention from the Bodyshop so to make sure it all looked as good if not better than the day it arrived on the showroom floor 23 years ago.
Our in-house paint expert Chris carefully prepared each panel to make sure the best results were achieved for our customer. The results are absolutely sensational.
This 2000 Honda S2000 is a returning modern classic. It came into us back in March this year for some cosmetic work, with patches of corrosion and paint chipping away on the wheel arches, boot, bonnet and side panels. You can read about the process in full, in previous blog posts on this car.
This time around, it came into us for preparation work and painting on the front bumper and wing. This is called a SMART repair, which stands for Small Medium Area Repair Technology. It’s simply where a small area of the car is repaired instead of replacing the whole panel. Another great job done by the paint shop guys!

After last being seen in the painting bay, the 1998 Honda Integra Type R is now in the workshop!
Paul is now taking care of it and has taken everything out of the engine bay.
He’s also repaired and welded the chassis section where the captive nuts cover is.
As you can see, the radiator and air conditioning condenser are in desperate need of repair so these will be overhauled prior to being refitted.
The 1998 Honda Integra went into the paint bay at the end of last week. The body shell and bonnet have been primed and the doors and boot panel have been coated in the final coat of new white paint.
The painting has started on the 1998 Honda Integra Type R. Now that all the different panels have been prepped with sanding, filler, priming and more sanding, they’re filtering through into the paint booth. They’re having a fresh new coat of white to revive the car to its former glory.
Lydia has been continuing her prep work again for the 1998 Honda Integra Type R. This time around she’s been sanding down the primer on the various panel pieces for the wing mirrors and the fuel cap. They were all gone over with 500 grade gold soft pads, followed by grey scotch and then panel wipe to clean the sanding and paint dust off.
Lydia has been continuing the prep work on the 1998 Honda Integra Type R. This time she’s been sanding down the original paintwork on the underneath/inside of the panel that goes around the boot of the car. She used 500-grade gold soft pads to get rid of the bulk of the shine, followed by grey scotch pads to get into the tricky places and to go over the whole thing as well. Lydia then cleaned off the sanding and paint dust with panel wipe.
James has been doing the last bits of welding repair work on the 1998 Honda Integra Type R. He removed the left hand quarter panel and repaired around the wheel arch. Then he finished the spot welding around the rear wheel arch.
Chris and Lydia have been continuing their work on the 1998 Honda Integra Type R in the paint shop.
As before, Chris has been spraying primer onto various panels from the car, including the front and rear bumpers, the sills, the registration plate panel, the spoiler and the wings.
Lydia has then been sanding down this primer, using either a block sander, DA sander or by hand. She covered each panel in black guide coat beforehand to help see how much sanding needed to be done. You can read about last week’s work on them here. https://bridgeclassiccars.co.uk/more-stages-of-the-prep-work-for-the-honda-integra/

He’s repaired a section on the lower quarter panel by fabricating and welding. It’s now ready to be re-fitted back onto the car.
Lydia has been helping Chris in the paint shop with the 1998 Honda Integra Type R panels.
Chris has been priming them, and then Lydia has been coating them in black guide coat, which shows the imperfections in the primer surface when sanded down. She sanded each panel down until no guide coat could be seen anymore. This was done with a mixture of blocking, using a DA and sanding by hand. Lydia then went over each panel with a grey scotch pad lightly and cleaned off any sanding dust with pre-clean.
Lydia, can normally be found in the trim shop, has been helping out with getting the Honda Integra ready for a re-paint.
She’s been sanding down various panels, including the front grill, spoiler, wing mirror surrounds and fuel tank cover. Most of the panels only needed a light sanding with a DA and soft sanding by hand afterwards. Any imperfections that were found in any of the paint, such as trapped air bubbles and chips, Lydia sanded down to the original bare plastic and feathered out. The underneath of all the different panels were cleaned to remove any residues that could get into the new paint.
Pricey and Lydia have been working on our Honda Integra. Lydia has been sanding down various panels in preparation for paint whilst James has been taking apart the internal panels around the arch and fabricating new parts.

Pricey has been continuing his work on our 1998 Honda Integra. He’s currently making up a new rear wheel arch and shaping up the arch. When he removed the arch it revealed a rotten inner sill and inner arch which he has worked to improve.
Pricey has begun to strip down our 1998 Honda Integra so that we can address the request for a re-spray. Pricey has also begun correcting a rusty rear arch and made a note that a sill also needs addressing. We’ve also noted some accident damage on the front right hand corner that we will address at the end of our process.
Our Honda S2000 has come out of the fabrication bay with its freshly repaired wheel arch and has been prepared for paint.
The Honda will now enter the paint booth and will have its final paint colour applied.
Our Honda S2000 is a modern classic from the turn of the millennia. Following on from our last update, James has been focusing on rebuilding the wheel arch that has been lost to corrosion and rust. James has also rebuilt and painted the boot lip which is hidden beneath trim as well as welding and spot welding areas that have suffered due to rust.
Matt has been repairing the bumper in the paint shop which was showing signs of stress fractures. Its previously been poorly repaired as Matt found excessive filler in it, meaning he had to strip it to bare plastic and apply dolphin glaze to repair it.
This is the wheel arch complete:
This 2000 Honda S2000 arrived today for some cosmetic TLC. With some paint chips and signs of rust, this little Honda just needs a small touch up and it’ll be ready to go. The perfect modern classic for summer cruising.
Our Honda’s TLC is mostly going to be concentrated around the wheel arches that need refurbishing.
We’ve been contacted by someone with a unique Honda S800 who was enquiring about getting some bodywork repair done. We’re looking forward to seeing where this enquiry takes us so keep your eyes peeled!
