Our new interior trimmer, Lydia, has got straight to it by working on our 1958 Austin Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite. As this will soon be going live on the Bridge Classic Cars Competitions Website.
Lydia has been fitting the carpets and door panels to our classic Frogeye and, as you can see from the photos below, they certainly look great and has gone a long way in bringing our Frogeye another step closer to being won very soon.
We have been very busy sourcing some beautiful classic cars recently. Next in line to come into the workshop is our racing Austin Healey 3000 which will go on to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
We are very much looking forward to seeing this stunning car arrive at the workshop all the way from South Africa, and it will no doubt be a popular competition car in the very near future.
Most 987 Caymans are seen in Silvers, Greys, Blacks, and Blues. However, this one is a bit more special as it was ordered new in PTS 8C6 Orange. These types of cars don’t become available very often, so this is a fantastic opportunity to own a Cayman in a factory PTS colour.
Entry is now open (with a special bonus draw too!)
After noticing that the electric windows weren’t working correctly on our 1986 Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet, classic car technician Jonn has been working on repairing the issue so everything is working as it should be when it is eventually won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Jonn stripped the doors and removed the nearside electric window motor and regulator. While the doors were stripped, Jonn made weather shields for both sides of the car. Once the motor and regulator had been checked, the doors were reassembled.
The next job was to drill out the door button lever so the connecting rod fit before the door panel was refitted and the door button was fitted.
Jonn went on to sort the electric window wiring. He cut and soldered the old wiring ready for new switches. Before the new switch panel went into the car, it was painted to make it look as good as possible before it was fitted.
Our 1989 Ford Sierra XR4x4 has been in our personal collection for a little while but, that will soon be changing, as it is set to become a competition car through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
In preparation for that to happen, it has been in the paint shop with classic car technicians Chris and Mauro.
After the car was prepared for paint, it spent some time in the paint booth while it was painted in its great looking red.
Classic car technician Brian has continued to make great progress with the interior of our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5.
The boot boards have been trial fitted and foam was added to the side sills. Vinyl and sound deadening were also fitted in the same area. Carpet has been fitted throughout the car too.
Brian needed to put a crease in the kick panels so they could be bent at right angles and installed. The rear seats have been fitted as well as various other panels inside the car like the wheel arch interior panels.
There has been a lot of interior work completed by Brian on our E-Type and, all being well, it will soon be ready to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
We have welcomed a new arrival to the Bridge Classic Cars workshop in the form of our 1990 Mini Cooper.
Now that it is here, our team of classic car technicians will inspect and assess it to make sure it is ready to eventually be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
While Molly, Freddie, Craig, and Nick were out filming the live draw of our 1977 Volkswagen T2 Van, they were photographed by a local photographer who shared a post on Facebook.
Earlier today, Molly, Freddie, Craig, and Nick headed down to The Tide Mill in Woodbridge (just down the road from the Bridge Classic Cars workshop) for the live draw of our 1977 Volkswagen T2 Van.
The Tide Mill is one of the few remaining mills in the world that still produces flour and has been on the same site for more than 850 years.
During the live draw, lucky winner Alistair Keates had his ticket number, 3015 randomly selected as he became the new owner of this classic VW Van.
To give you an idea of what goes on behind the scenes of one of our ‘on the road’ shoots, the photos below will show you what goes on!
Before it goes to the lucky winner though, classic car technician Jonn has been giving it a pre-delivery inspection to make sure it is ready to go when the time finally comes for it to go to its new home.
Jonn drained some of the coolant from our Minx and replaced it with neat anti-freeze to raise the protection level.
The nearside front door opening quarter window has also been freed up and now opens as it should.
Our 1973 Reliant Scimitar was won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions a little while ago now. However, the lucky winner has been out of the country so we have been looking after the car on his behalf.
Now that delivery is fast approaching, classic car technician Jonn has been giving the car its pre-delivery inspection to make sure everything is as it should be.
Jonn was pleased with our Scimitar so it is now ready to go to its new home.
Our 1986 Golf GTI Cabriolet has been in the care of classic car technician Jonn, as he has been inspecting and assessing the car before a new owner will be found through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions very soon.
Jonn cleaned and inspected the rear brakes before making some adjustments and refitting the drum. While working on our Golf, Jonn noticed that there was some interesting wiring in the car and some faulty relays too. This was likely put in when the aftermarket headlights were fitted by a previous owner but is now sorted thanks to Jonn.
The electric windows have not been working correctly since our Golf arrived so Jonn investigated this. He found that the switches were faulty so resolved this to make sure the windows were working as they should.
A new timing belt and tensioner were also fitted in preparation for our 1986 Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet to be won.
After the wheels of our 1958 Austin Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite were refurbished, classic car technician Mauro put them back onto the car.
Refurbished wheels make a big difference to the final look of a classic car and, as you can see from the photos below, our Frogeye wheels are no exception to this.
Our 1986 Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet has gone through its pre-delivery inspection with classic car technician Jonn and he has given the go-ahead for it to go live on the Bridge Classic Cars Competitions website.
That means you can now buy your tickets to enter the draw and be in with a chance of winning this classic Golf for yourself.
This is a beautiful classic that will no doubt bring back memories of the time when these would have been a common sight on the road. It hasn’t been with us here at Bridge Classic Cars very long but we are very excited to see it go home with its new owner when it is won next week.
Classic car technician Alan has been putting the last bit of paint onto our 1958 Austin Healey Frogeye Sprite.
He has been prepping, priming, and painting the bonnet of this future competition car. One of the great things about a Frogeye Sprite is that the bonnet looks very happy to have a new coat of paint, as you can see in the pictures below.
Our 2007 Porsche Cayman S has been undergoing some minor improvements in preparation for it to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
The windscreen sticker has been removed. This might seem like a very minor change but, it has made a big difference to the overall look of the attention-grabbing sports car.
With a 1970cc air-cooled flat-four engine and automatic gearbox, it has period-correct paintwork with block graphics. It comes with a history file containing several previous invoices and is an excellent choice for days out exploring.
Classic car technician Brian has been working on the interior of our 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 as it continues to move through its restoration journey before being won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Now that the exterior paint work has been completed, the beautiful red interior will complement it perfectly. Brian has been working on the seats, some of the chrome trim, and the cubby box.
The next big update on this special competition is coming very soon and we are very excited to share it with you.
Before then though, classic car technician Jonn has been doing some work on it to make sure it is ready for its new owner. This started with a new ignition switch being fitted before the carburettors, heatshield, and engine side covers were removed ready to be serviced.
Our 1980 MGB GT will soon be won and we are very much looking forward to seeing it arrive with the lucky winner, whoever that may be.
Classic car technician Jonn has been inspecting our 1972 Triumph Stag in preparation for it to be delivered to the lucky winner very soon.
During his inspection, Jonn found that part of the nearside rear chassis needed to be repaired. After stripping the rear suspension, Monty from the Bridge Classic Cars fabrication workshop was able to access the area and repair it. Once repaired, Monty undersealed the repaired area too.
The oil filter housing was taken out, painted, and then refitted. Jonn also fitted a new nearside rear wheel cylinder before removing the rocker cover so a new gasket could be fitted. Once the rocker gasket cover was cleaned, the new gasket was fitted.
Jonn also fitted new choke cables and a new washer bottle too.
Our classic Stag is now almost ready to be delivered to its new owner and will soon be leaving the Bridge Classic Cars workshop.
The rebuild of our competition 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 has continued recently with more work being completed.
Having an E-Type as a classic car to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions is an exciting project and we are very much looking forward to it being won by its new owner in the near future.
For now, though, the installation of the chrome work has begun, and the lights have been fitted. The dashboard installation process has also begun.
More updates on this extremely exciting project are coming very soon…
This type of classic car is always popular so we are very excited to see someone win it on the 4th of July 2023.
After undergoing an aesthetic restoration, our MGB GT has been refinished in Vermillion Orange, which pairs beautifully with its grey-striped interior and full-length sunroof.
You can enter the draw to be in with a chance of winning our 1980 MGB GT for the launch sale price of just £7.50. Once the launch sale ends, the price will increase to £8. Competitions MGBs have a habit of selling out fast and we are expecting this one to be the same.
Classic car technician Jonn has been conducting a service on our 1980 MGB GT in preparation for it to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
While servicing the car, he found the fuel sender was faulty and, upon removal, he noticed that the fuel hose from the sender was not a fuel-specific hose and, consequently, split as it was removed.
Jonn removed the fuel sender before fitting and wiring in a new one.
Powered by a 3-litre V8 and backed up by a 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive, our stag is the perfect balance of performance, practicality, and presence.
With a history file dating back to the early 1990s, the lucky winner is sure to love one of the most popular British sports cars ever made.
Our 2007 Porsche Cayman S arrived at the Bridge Classic Cars workshop yesterday, and it is a stunner!
Finished in the rare factory PTS 8C6 Orange, this certainly stands out when compared to the usual Caymans in Silver, Grey, Black, or Blue. Even the interior is a special order Cocoa leather making this an extra special car.
Now that it is in the workshop, it will go through an inspection and assessment with the team before it goes on to be won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Classic car technician, and workshop manager, John has been rebuilding the dash of our very special 1968 Jaguar E-Type Series 1.5 competition project.
Once this iconic classic car has been fully rebuilt, it will be the biggest competition we have ever launched through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions as the car will be available to win.
Before that though, work will continue on the rebuild of our E-Type project.
Classic car technician Alan has had our 1972 Triumph Stag in the Bridge Classic Cars Paintshop where he has completed a couple of jobs to get the vehicle ready to go live on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
After making some repairs to the driver’s side door, Alan went on to add the black stripe down the side of our Stag finishing it off beautifully.
It now won’t be too much longer until someone will be lucky enough to win this classic Stag for themselves.
