A Change Of Plan

Work is well underway on our 1975 Cobra project. However, the plans have changed slightly as the owner of the car changed their mind about what colour they want their car finished in.

While, originally, our Cobra was going to be painted blue, its final colour will now be Candy Apple Red. Chris, from the Bridge Classic Cars paintshop, will now make a spray-out card and work will continue on the restoration of this incredible classic.

Mauro has also been looking at our Cobra as he has been removing the gearbox.

A New Tonneau Cover For An AC Ace

Our 1958 AC Ace has had a new tonneau cover made by Brian and Lydia.

Brian made paper patterns for the steering wheel cover before cutting out a trial cover from vinyl and trial-fitting it in the car. The tonneau cover had a slot cut out of it where the steering wheel cover will be. The steering wheel cover was then cut out before Brian fitted lift-the-dot fasteners and fitted the cover to the car.

Lydia helped Brian out by sewing the vinyl mock-up of the steering wheel cover.

Servicing Our AC Ace

Classic car technician Steve has been working on our 1958 AC Ace.

Steve drained the diff, gearbox, and engine oils from this stunning classic car before moving on to replacing the spark plugs.

To fill the gearbox, Steve used the access cover on the transmission tunnel. After doing this, he also removed the washer pump in order to unblock the pipes.

Our 1958 AC Ace is a very special classic car and work continues to make sure it stays in the same great condition in the future.

Highlights Of A Test Drive

Workshop Manager John recently took our beautiful 1958 AC Ace out for a test drive. If you’re not convinced already how cool this classic car is, the highlight video below will convince you just how special it really is.

Test Driving Our AC Ace

Classic car technician Rob has been investigating an issue with the brakes of our 1958 AC Ace. The owner of this stunning classic car has reported that the brakes have been feeling a bit sticky and have not been operating as they would expect them to.

To find out what was going on, Rob stripped the brakes down and cleaned them. He also lubricated the brakes before reassembling them. He found that the stickiness was being caused by wear in the front calipers which was allowing the pads to get stuck. Rob filed the calipers to remove the worn areas in order to rectify the issue.

Rob went on to repair and refit the brake caliper pad mounting faces. New pad retainers were also installed.

Once Rob had finished his work on our 1958 AC Ace, workshop manager John took it out for a road test and found everything was now working as it should be.

During the road test, we got to see just how impressive this classic car really is. Not only does it look incredible, but it drives smoothly too. Everyone here certainly has a soft spot for this eye-catching classic car.

A New Arrival

The Bridge Classic Cars workshop recently welcomed our very special 1958 AC Ace.

While it is with us, our team of classic car technicians will be giving the complete braking system a thorough check as the owner has reported that the front brake calipers feel a bit sticky.

It’s not very often that you get to see a car as special as an AC Ace so it’s exciting to see one up close in the workshop.
