Ben has been assembling various components for the suspension, cleaning threads and fitting bushings on our 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante. He built up the new koni shock absorbers and started fitting, but further checks showed these should be black, even though our Aston Martin parts company supplied red units. So these were removed and stripped back again for painting.
Ben then started fitting some of the refurbished parts, and refurbishment is taking place as we pick the parts to refit. The exhaust heat shields have now been finished and refitted, although Ben had to drill extra fitting points for the front of the forward shield as it was flapping about in mid-air. Now secured 100% along its length.
The rear spring seat is now fitted, and the upper and lower arms are in place. Ben is now awaiting further parts before we can final fit the suspension hubs and rear axle into the car and get her rolling again.
