BMW is testing humanoid robots. These are robots that are shaped a bit like people with arms, legs, and a head. These clever machines can move around the factory and help with certain jobs while people build the cars.
What Will the Robots Do?
The robots won’t be driving the cars or designing them. Instead, they help with jobs that can be very repetitive or tiring for humans.
For example, the robots might move heavy car parts, help assemble batteries for electric cars, and carry components around the factory. These kinds of tasks can be hard work for people, but robots can repeat them again and again without getting tired.
Have Robots Built Cars Before?
Factories have used robots for a long time, but most of them stay in one place and do just one job. These new robots are different because they can walk around and use tools more like humans do. That means they could help in many different parts of the factory.
BMW actually tested similar robots in one of its factories in the United States, where they helped with building thousands of cars during the trial.

BMW says the robots are there to help human workers, not replace them. They can take care of the most repetitive or heavy tasks while people focus on more skilled work.
