Ben ensured the lock and latch mechanism on our 1976 Jensen Interceptor were fully operational before fitting the door card and surrounding chrome trim. He tested the components thoroughly and applied grease, making necessary adjustments to the ageing locking mechanism to achieve reliable function. Alongside this, he attended to various small finishing tasks, including fitting bonnet rubbers and the chrome trim on the boot lid slam panel. Under the dashboard, he installed the remaining panels and painted the necessary parts. He also addressed some cross-threading on the steering wheel boss by carefully tapping out the affected threads.
John investigated the operation of the interior delay relay on our 1976 Jensen Interceptor. Referring to the wiring diagram, he checked the associated wiring and confirmed the correct routing. The relay connections were cleaned to ensure reliable contact, and the unit was rewired as required. Following testing, the interior light now remains illuminated for approximately four seconds after the door is closed, indicating that the delay function is operating as intended.
