Pete removed the rear H-frame from our 1978 Mercedes 350SL and began trimming back to the chassis tail ends in preparation for fitting the new rear crossmember, which will be tied into the replacement boot floor. Despite the location being deep behind the bodywork, corrosion was still present in these areas.

Fortunately, the acid dip has revealed every trace of rust, allowing for thorough preparation ahead of the next stages of fabrication and fitting.
