Greg addressed areas of corrosion within our 1978 Mercedes 350SL, focusing on the engine bay’s inner wing and the front frame. He carefully removed the rusted sections of metal from the affected inner wing, cutting back to solid material to ensure a sound repair. New steel was fabricated and welded into place, recreating the original contours and ensuring structural integrity. The front frame also required attention, with Greg repairing corroded sections by cutting out the damaged areas and grafting in precisely shaped replacement panels. All welds were dressed back neatly, and the repairs were prepared for further finishing to restore the strength and appearance of these critical structural areas.
