Jon worked on our 1967 MG B Roadster which is in the Bridge Classic Cars restoration workshop by fitting and securing the exhaust bracket to the gearbox, drilling out the clamp bracket to ensure proper fitment. He removed the offside front lower suspension bottom bolt nut and washer, discovering the bolt was seized in the suspension bush and preventing the nut from going far enough to allow a split pin to be fitted. He cleaned the threads, applied lubricant, refitted the nut and tightened it, then aligned the hole in the bolt with the castellated nut, drilled it slightly, and fitted a new split pin.

He also cut and fitted new grommets to both oil cooler pipes where they pass through the radiator panel. After checking fluid levels, he took the car outside and noted a noise from the starter, which he addressed by bending the metal fuel pipe away from it. He adjusted the idle speed, straightened the steering wheel centre, and refitted the radio blank. A road test was then carried out, with the steering checked and found to be very close to straight, which he deemed acceptable.

Jon also investigated a fault with the overdrive, finding it was not working. He checked the wiring, tested the relay, and cleaned the connections, confirming both the relay and wiring were functioning correctly. He bypassed the throttle switch, but the overdrive still failed to engage, and he is awaiting confirmation from the customer on whether they wish for further investigation.
