Congratulations to Neil Brinson, who won our 1970 Morris Minor 1000.
Finished in Almond Green with a matching Green interior, this Morris Minor has had very few owners from new and led a sheltered but well-loved life covering just 25732 miles in its 52-year life.
Morris Minors have proven to be incredibly popular competitions and this charming example is the very best yet!
The car lived the majority of its life in the north of Scotland, where on the 1st of September 1970 its new owner collected the car from A & D Fraser of Aberdeen/ Robert Ewen & Sons (as recorded in the original Passport to Service book) and went on to live and be maintained around the Aberdeen area until 1983 (the last recorded service stamp). The car was passed on to the brother of its original owner, who was himself a Morris enthusiast until the brother, unfortunately, passed away himself in 2019.
By that point, the car had been used sparingly if at all for several years. The nephew of the original owner whilst clearing the estate sold the car in around January of 2020 to a lady who used the car regularly and performed several vital works on the car such as a brand new battery and a new fuel pump. During its time with that owner, the car covered around 500-1000 miles before being sold on. The next owner of the Minor then completes more key works, such as replacement of rubber bushes, engine mounts, brake hoses, wheel cylinders, gaskets, rocker cover gaskets, coolant valves and hoses, thermostat, fan belt, oil filter conversion upgrade and the all-important uprated cylinder head to run the new unleaded fuel along with a full radiator flush and painted (radiator is believed to be the original one with the car and in incredible condition internally).
