Lot’s of new arrivals n the workshops this week, we’ll start with the 1971 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Coupe which we are now preparing for competition. Jon is busy appraising the vehicle, listing everything that may need doing on the vehicle prior to the photo shoot taking place.

We noticed a smell of fuel when looking in the boot and found that one of the fuel filter unions wasn’t very tight. So we cleaned off the old fuel residue and tightened the union before rechecking for leaks.

We found that the interior light was not working caused by tarnished contacts inside the switch. We removed the switch, dismantled and cleaned contacts. Now it all works fine.

Next up, we carried out the appraisal on the 1970 MG C Roadster. We started with the car on the floor and checked before road testing.
Next, we got the car on the ramp to continue.
Grease all points. Check gearbox and axle levels. Check charging rate as alternator fitted and 2 wires that were not connected. Charging at 14.5v at idle.

This weekend, Gordon and I took a trip to collect two fantastic cars, our 1997 Porsche 911. One of three that were built in this colour and believed to be the only one left in existence…and simply stunning.

Finally, but certainly not least, we have our 2012 BMW 320D Cabriolet. With just 19000 miles on the clock the car is as good as the day it left the factory. At this time we are unsure what we will be doing with the car but wherever it ends up, it needs to be cared for and cherished and it will certainly be a car of the future!
