Our 1988 Volkswagen Golf GTi Mk2 is a highly original example of one of the most iconic hot hatches of the 1980s. Finished in Oak Green Metallic with Grey cloth upholstery featuring multi-coloured stripes, it was first registered on April 18th, 1988, and has had just three former keepers, with one of them keeping the car for more than 30 years
It has done 66,000 miles from new, and recent maintenance includes a new timing belt, water pump, front struts, and suspension arm, as well as a full service. It passed its most recent MOT on April 1st, 2025, with no advisories.
This particular example benefits from the subtle but distinctive facelift applied to the 1988 model, including the five-slat grille and deleted front quarterlights.
