Ferrari is famous for building very cool cars that can go extremely fast. The Ferrari team are now trying something new; they have built a very special racing boat! It’s called the Ferrari Hypersail, and it’s unlike any boat you would have seen before.
It’s A Flying Boat
Well, kind of. The Hypersail is a 100-foot racing yacht that glides above the water on special wings called foils. These foils lift the boat out of the water so it can “fly” on just three points of contact. It has a clever keel (that’s the long fin on the bottom of the boat) that supports one of the foils. There are two more foils on the sides and the rudder. This setup creates a flying boat!

A Clever Team
The team that created the Hypersail is led by famous sailor Giovanni Soldini, and the boat was designed by Guillaume Verdier, an experienced yacht designer from France. Ferrari’s car experts are working closely with boat builders to mix racing technology from both land and sea. They’re even sharing car technology to help make the yacht smarter and faster.
Self-Sufficient
The Ferrari Hypersail runs completely on renewable energy! That means no petrol or diesel is needed. It gets power from the sun, the wind, and even the boat’s own movement. Everything on board, from the control systems to the computers, runs on the energy the yacht creates while sailing. This makes the Hypersail extremely kind to the environment.
The Future Of The Ferrari
Ferrari is planning to launch the Hypersail in 2026, and it will be tested in the sea soon after. They’ve already filed nine patents for new inventions, with more on the way. In fact, some of the clever ideas from this boat might end up in future Ferrari cars, too!
A very cool boat that makes its own energy – what a creation!
