NASA has just introduced 10 brand-new astronauts who might one day visit the Moon or even walk on Mars!

These astronauts were chosen from more than 8,000 people who all dreamed of working in space. After lots of tests and interviews, NASA picked six women and four men who are scientists, engineers, and test pilots.

They’ll now begin two years of intense training, learning everything from how to spacewalk to how to fix spacecraft.

Some of the new astronauts already have some experience with space. One has worked on the Mars rover Curiosity, and another has already flown to space and took part in the world’s first private spacewalk with SpaceX!

NASA has been choosing astronaut classes since 1959, when the very first group, the Mercury Seven, was introduced. Back then, they were all military test pilots. Now, astronauts come from all kinds of backgrounds!

After training, these new astronauts might go to the International Space Station, land on the Moon with NASA’s Artemis missions, or maybe even travel to Mars!
