Jon began an appraisal of our 1970 MGC GT here at the Bridge Classic Cars HQ in Suffolk, starting with the floor area before topping up the coolant and checking the antifreeze. He tightened the steering column universal joint pinch bolt, continuing the inspection until he required use of the ramp the following morning to complete the appraisal. Once on the ramp, he checked over the rear axle, removed the rear wheels, and stripped, cleaned, and inspected the brakes. He then refitted the drums, adjusted them, and reinstalled the wheels, knocking all wheels up tight. The tyres were inflated to the correct pressures, and all grease points were attended to.

Jon refitted the boot carpet using Velcro, attaching the hooked side to the carpet and securing it up behind the rear lights. He removed the exhaust centre mount, replaced one of the cotton reel-type mounts, and refitted and secured the assembly. With the work complete, he took the car outside, filled it with P1 fuel, and carried out a road test, confirming everything was operating correctly.
