There are some cars that are very special but look like any other car on the road. One example of that is this very cool Skoda Superb.

You probably can’t tell, but this car is actually bulletproof!

How Do You Make A Car Bulletproof?

There is a company called UTAC Special Vehicles that can make bulletproof cars. They keep a lot of the information about how they do it secret, so people don’t know exactly how they stop bullets. However, there are certain things that the team have said to give us a bit of an idea about what is going on.

• Strong Body: This car has special steel and thick glass that can stop bullets and even protect against explosions.
• Hidden Strength: Even though it’s super tough, it looks like a regular car on the outside. That way, it doesn’t attract too much attention.
• Built for Safety: The car has been tested to make sure it’s really safe. It meets special safety standards called PAS 300 and PAS 301, which check how well it can protect people inside.

A standard windscreen on a car like this weighs about 15kg – 20kg, but the windscreen on the Skoda Superb bulletproof car weighs 100kg, which is the same as a small horse! The whole car weighs 2,600kg, which is similar to a fully grown rhino or 3 small cars! It turns out that bulletproof cars are VERY heavy.
