Jonn worked on our 1968 Austin Mini Cooper S, beginning by determining the appropriate locations for the relay and switch for the heated rear window. He planned the wire routing for both components and started laying out the wires to the required lengths. All wire ends were soldered, and terminals were shrink-wrapped for durability and a clean finish. The wiring was then routed into the car and across the bulkhead to reach the positions where the relay and switch would be mounted.
A bracket for the switch was fabricated, drilled out, and painted black to blend in with the surroundings. The wiring across the bulkhead was taped together neatly, and the connection to the rear window was made in the boot. From there, the wire was routed under the car to the front and brought up into the engine bay. Finally, the switch was mounted securely in place.
