What an epic weekend we’ve just experienced here at Bridge Classic Cars. Like the rest of Suffolk right now, pink played a massive part in our celebrations.
Let’s start with Thursday and Goodwood Festival of Speed. I was joined this year by Rob who was experiencing all that a Goodwood event has to offer for the very first time and you can read his thoughts right now…
One of my personal highlights was seeing the stunning (but controversial) Jaguar Type OO for real as it appeared for the very first time in the UK.

No sooner had we returned from the long trip from Chichester we were out again, this time at Portman Road, home of Ipswich Town Football Club as we welcomed home Ed Sheeran.
I was amongst the 90,000 spectators that joined Ed on his three-night homecoming concert, the first headline show he has performed in the UK since 2023, and what a perfect place to do it, at the home of his and our beloved football club.
As a lifelong Town fan and minority club owner, he called it “a true homecoming.” He told us on the evening that his team had suggested a few dates at Wembley stadium but he felt that this was not the return he truly wanted. The reaction from the crowd was intense, every song was a hit.

Personally, this concert meant so much to me. My little man is 8 and Ed Sheeran has played a huge part of his entire life so far. He has learnt to understand music and to sing from listening to Ed and for this to be his first concert, seeing Ed Sheeran in person and for it to be at the Ipswich Town football ground, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect first concert for him to experience.
Every hit was as good as the last and to top it all off, the fireworks closing off the show, the entire stadium went crazy!
On Friday evening, Ed Sheeran was supported by the fabulous Tori Kelly (the elephant from Sing) followed by chart topper Myles Smith. The following evenings saw Busted and Dylan, with Sunday’s final show welcoming James Blunt and Maisie Peters to the county.

The entire town turned pink in the build up to the shows hopefully giving the town a massive boost, some sources are estimating around £10 million. Hotels were filled, local businesses were getting involved and we were all buzzing with with excitement.
We even made our own video inspired by one of Ed’s recent tracks ‘Old Phone’ which had a striking resemblance to our popular Nostalgia section of the website. It was too good an opportunity to miss…
I feel so fortunate to have experienced one of the three concerts and it’ll be a lasting memory for me and my family.
