Pete has been continuing his work on our 1985 Mercedes 500SL, beginning with an oil change. The engine’s large drain plug released a significant volume of old oil, nearly overwhelming the oil drainer. Once drained, the filter housing and old filter were removed, thoroughly cleaned of residue, and refitted with fresh copper washers and O-rings. […]
Pete has made a lot of progress on our 1993 Jaguar XJS, starting with the reinstallation of the trim. The initial task involved marking and drilling bolt holes for the corner numbers, which could not be completed prior to painting as the fabrication of the rear bumper and brackets had not been finalised before the […]
Tony recently loaded up our 1960 Triumph TR3A and delivered it to its new owner who was lucky enough to win it through our competitions. Congratulations again Anthony, I hope you enjoy your new classic!
While waiting for a replacement steering rack for our 1977 Ford Granada, a temporary tie bar was fabricated to stabilise the steering. This allowed Pete to move the car off the ramp, freeing up space in the busy workshop for other tasks.
Pete reported that after addressing the initial leaks on our 1967 Mercedes 250SL, another issue was noted as the next weakest point was revealed. Despite two road tests and multiple run-ups showing no problems initially, the seal between the pump motor and impeller failed. This failure allowed fuel to enter the motor, filling it and […]
Tony has taken our 1978 Daimler Double Six to Anglia Car Auctions ready for it to go up for sale at their next event on the 25th and 26th of January 2025. He also took our SD1 too.
More progress has been made on Craig’s 1987 Mercedes 500SL as Jonn has continued his work on it. He began by raising the car off the ground to access the rear axle and subframe. The rear axle was stripped down, and wheel chocks were positioned to secure it. The mounting components were removed, and the […]
Over the past few days our website has gone through some major updates. It may look pretty similar but the cogs and wheels that make it all work have had a service. We hope this makes the website run smoothly and hopefully much faster. It has, however, meant our workshop updates are a week behind […]
We’ve recently welcomed this 1999 Vauxhall Omega to the Bridge Classic Cars workshop for the team to take a look at a few issues with the V6 saloon car.
Our 1951 Austin Devon is now ready for epoxy primer. It’s been a long process but we are now commencing the strip down to the component level in preparation for its final colour in the last week of January.
Our 1985 Mercedes 500SL has been undergoing some pretty extensive electrical work to address various issues and improve functionality:
After being won through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions, a pre-delivery inspection (PDI) was carried out on our 1978 MG Midget, and several tasks were completed: During a road test, it was observed that the speedometer was not working, and the engine occasionally coughed under acceleration. Upon returning to the workshop, a fuel leak was identified […]
Our 2002 Ford Thunderbird underwent modifications to comply with UK specifications, in preparation for its MOT. The lighting system was rewired by Jonn to ensure the indicators display amber lights, and the stop lights no longer flash in conjunction with the indicators.
Our 1976 Jensen Interceptor recently underwent brake maintenance. Photographs were taken to document the condition of the brakes before and after cleaning. New metal brake pipes were fitted as part of the process. The components were thoroughly cleaned and assessed for functionality. The interior has also had some attention from Lydia.
Our 1975 Volkswagen Beetle has been with Jonn undergoing several repairs and adjustments: The nearside window regulator was replaced. The replacement part differed slightly from the original, requiring modifications: The vehicle was then raised on a ramp, and the wheels were removed to inspect the brakes. Both front brake cylinders were found to be leaking […]

Back in December 2022, Nick Fiore won our 1991 Maserati Bi-Turbo Spyder E. Since then, he has been enjoying it and, it has been featured in several publications since. One of the most recent features was on the “Number 27” YouTube channel.
Jonn has completed the pre-delivery inspection for our 1960 Triumph TR3A. All tyres were inflated to the correct pressure, and the wheels were securely tightened. The vehicle was filled with P1 fuel, and a road test was conducted, confirming that everything was in full working order.
More repairs were carried out on our 1963 Rover P4 by Rob. He has continued his focus on structural areas of the car. The rear floor and seat base were repaired, ensuring stability and integrity. Attention was also given to the rear wheel arch, with necessary repairs made to restore its shape and strength. Work […]

Heater Blower Maintenance One of the initial issues tackled by Pete was the squeaky heater blower. The blower was removed from the […]
We recently welcomed our 1960 MG Midget into the Bridge Classic Cars workshop. It will now begin its restoration journey with the workshop team.
Steve recently identified a fuel leak originating from the electrical terminal of the cold start solenoid of our 1964 Mercedes 230SL. This component plays a crucial role in aiding the engine’s start-up, especially in colder conditions, by delivering a precise amount of extra fuel during ignition. Unfortunately, attempts to reseal the solenoid were unsuccessful. Given […]
We don’t see modern cars in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop very much but, recently, a friend of ours brought their beautiful 2021 Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrafoglio in for some new tyres.
The customer reported a few issues with our 1985 Mercedes 500SL, and Pete confirmed most of them during a test drive: Lighting Issues While the external lights are fully operational, there were a few concerns with internal and auxiliary lighting: Heated Seats The heated seat switches are non-functional. They’ve completely collapsed in their housing, rendering […]
Pete has made some good progress with out 1993 Jaguar XJS recently. Pete also ensured the window switch bezel is now sitting correctly after […]
Classic car technician Steve has been conducting his initial check and assessment of our 1976 Jensen Interceptor. His findings will now be reported back to the owner.
Pete removed the very tired old shocks on our 1977 Ford Granada and replaced them with new Gaz adjustable units. The old shocks had very little damping effect and could easily be compressed by hand, while the new units should significantly improve the car’s ride quality. He also removed the power steering rack for refurbishment, […]
Rob has been repairing some of the corrosion on our 1963 Rover P4. He welded in the front wheel arch closing panel before removing the front chassis outrigger. He then repaired the chassis behind the outrigger and fitted a new one. Next, he cut away corrosion from the rear wheel arch and C-post area to […]
