The 1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 made its way from the Bridge Classic Cars Suffolk HQ to Eastleigh on the South Coast to begin its life with its new owner, Mark, who won the car through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.
Mark and his family excitedly awaited the arrival of their 1990s icon. The imposing red and white supercar will hopefully be enjoyed by Mark and we hope to hear all of the amazing stories from his time with the Viper!
This week’s live draw was a very special one. Not only was it for our incredible 1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 but it was the first of a new format for our classic car live draws thanks to our amazing friends over at Bruizer.
The new way of doing the live draws means the ability to swap between multiple cameras during the live stream but also to play in some of our videos of competition cars and updates from our restoration workshop! We’re really excited and hope you are too!
The imposing Viper sat in the centre of our competition building, pride of place. This is one of the most exciting cars we’ve ever had the opportunity to bring to our amazing followers. Molly, Craig and Freddie showed our watchers around the eclectic mix we currently have at our Suffolk HQ. From a 1950 Land Rover Series 1 to a 200 MPH 2008 Bentley and everything you can imagine in between.
But, everyone wanted to know if they had the ticket which would mean they were going to take delivery of the iconic 1990s supercar. As always, our pre-published entry lists go live on our website after the tickets close at 7:10pm. We use Google Random Number Generator to spin the metaphorical wheel of fortune, and find the winner ticket number. After a test run using numbers not included in the entry list, it was time to find our winner.
Molly input the criteria of 1 to 9999 and with one swift touch of a button, the Viper had a new home. The winner was Mike Fairley with ticket number 3938. The ecstatic new owner of the legendary Dodge Viper!
This Sunday, the Bridge Classic Cars team were at the Helmingham Hall Classic & Sports Car Festival 2022.
The team had set up our stand the day before and carefully positioned our collection of competition and restoration cars to show off to everyone walking past.
Our stand was instantly busy as the gates opened at 10 am on Sunday. Crowds and lines of people waiting to get their tickets for our competition cars or to talk to the team about a project they have. In front of us, the rows of concourse cars laid out an incredible sight.
From an original Lamborghini Countach Anniversary to an Mk2 Jaguar with a leopard print interior. Included in those rows of incredible machinery was a 1960 Jensen 541S – It was Peony Red, the car we had restored for its proud owner on display and mentioned as a finalist in the Best in Show later that day.
In the multiple fields and paddocks, all manner of cars were on show. From new supercars to rarely seen and incredible classics from every corner of the automotive world. There was also amazing food, dancing, bands and stands for everyone to look at.
Families lined the shaded driveway, nestled under a long row of oak trees as the sun grew higher throughout the day as the concourse cars would do their exhibition runs. Filling the Suffolk countryside with every type of engine noise imaginable.
At the Bridge Classic Cars stand, the line of people didn’t stop. We love seeing our friends, new and old, so it was always a pleasure for the team to have a chat and enjoy the atmosphere.
As the afternoon went on, it was time to do our annual live draw from the Heveningham Hall Classic & Sports Car Festival. This time, it was for our beautiful 1971 MG B Roadster.
Molly and Freddie went live on our Facebook page to find out who the lucky new owner of the classic sports car. With the tickets having sold out several days before and the entry list being live, it was time to fire up the Google Random Number Generator. As Molly and Freddie hit the button, the future of the MG B was decided. The winner was Richard Hancox with ticket number 1027.

The Dodge Viper – One of the most iconic, raw and visceral supercars of the 1990s. But, why was it so barebones and hardcore? Well, to answer that we have to look back further into the early 1960s.
It all begins with one word. Another car which would become synonymous with its generation – The Cobra. Developed by Carol Shelby in the early 1960s, the Cobra would bring European styling and handling combined with American Muscle thanks to its new heart, a small-block Ford V8 which now sat in the nose of the nimble sports car.
Yes, the Viper is the spiritual ancestor to the legendary Cobra. Even its name is a reference to the sports car/ racer of the 1960s…
In 1988, Bob Lutz was the president of Chrysler (the parent company of Dodge) and underneath him was his Chief of Design Tom Gale. Over a series of conversations, the pair formed an idea to make a modern interpretation of that legendary roadster. The basis was simple, an elegant but imposing exterior styling with the all-important manual gearbox fitted to a monstrous engine. The American contingent could handle the engineering underneath the car, but for the exterior it would need a European flair.
To create the visual flair of the Viper, Chrysler turned to the best in the business at cars with a huge presence. Lamborghini. At the time, Chrysler owned the supercar manufacturer so the job of creating the Viper’s curvaceous and ample proportions was done in Italy. Meanwhile, the engineering team had decided on the engine for the project. It couldn’t be a V8, by that point it was almost a given that ”real” supercars had more than a V12 but what could they use?
Well, Dodge mentioned they had a V10 they could use… and that’s how it happened. To give the car ”heroic proportions” the Viper would be fitted with an 8-litre V10 that had originally been developed for use in the upcoming Ram Pickup Trucks. The engineering team took this concept and remade it in aluminium to keep the weight off the nose of the car which would send all of its 400BHP and 450lb/ft of torque directly at the rear wheels of the supercar.
This was the basis of one of the most legendary supercars in its own right.
The first generation of the car would break cover in 1991 as the official pace car at that year’s Indianapolis 500. Then, in 1992 the car would be shown at the Detroit Auto Show (home turf of Dodge) to massive applause and carrying its official name of the Viper RT/10. The final car would harken back to the days of the Cobra with absolutely no frills whatsoever. A removable canvas roof (later cars could be ordered with a full hard-top), pop-out windows and no airbags… The Viper RT/10 was all business but still had a decent stereo.
The big draw to the Viper by potential owners? That engine. European performance with American reliability, it was the perfect combination. To add to the driver-focused, total performance attitude of the RT/10 engineers removed the anti-lock brakes and traction control to put the driver in complete and total responsibility of this fanged beast. When you add together the lightweight bodywork and its tubular spaceframe underpinnings, paired with the ferocious drivetrain – The Viper RT/10 could, in the right hands, be launched from a complete standstill to 60 miles an hour in under 5 seconds. In the early 1990s, that was only achievable by the most serious of racecars and the highest echelons of the supercar world. If you were feeling brave enough, your courage firmly placed in your right foot and in the right situation you would see over 160MPH on its speedometer placed perfectly in the driver’s view.
Our 1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 comes towards the end of the production run – Just before the change over to 2nd generation. The original RT/10’s are regarded by many to be the most driver-focussed and emotive of all the generations of this Detroit supercar. And Bridge Classic Cars wants you to experience this rare and unique breed of the supercar.

The time had come. As the glorious 8-litre V10 fired into life, the rapturous noise bouncing off the walls of the legendary Bentwaters Hush House you could feel the excitement of the team build.
It was finally time, to shoot our latest competition – the legendary 1995 Dodge Viper RT/10.
After being inspected by the Bridge Classic Cars workshop and cleared for filming, it was taken over to our secure storage facility, The Hangar, for the team to start work.
The Hush House, an old engine testing facility on the base, has been the background for several of our own photoshoots as well as a basis for photoshoots by major racing teams and manufacturers. The 2022 Williams F1 livery was revealed with the images of their F1 car in its extractor tunnel.
As Freddie, eased the Viper into the tunnel, the noise only grew in its ferocity and volume. The team then got the car perfectly into position before filming the all-important reveal sequence, giving you the first glimpses of this 1990s supercar icon. From there, Craig along with Freddie, eased the car down the ramps and out of the tunnel to get everything set up to let the Viper stretch its legs on the ex-American Air Base.
As Craig ran the Viper through the gears on the old turning circle, the supercar flexed its muscles. The sight and sound of this bedroom poster come to life was enough to have the whole team smiling as it accelerated past the camera car.

Last night, the Bridge Classic Cars team got together to find out who the lucky new owner of the 1979 Porsche 911 Targa was!
The live stream started off a touch different this time, with Craig and Freddie showing our followers something very exciting that’s coming up soon and letting them witness and experience this amazing red and white beast… but we can’t give too much of it away on here just yet.
The live stream then moved on to Freddie and Craig having a look around our competitions building and giving our views several sneak peeks of what’s coming up very soon. Also, our show coming next Sunday! Head over to our show page here for more information.
Then, at 10 past 7, the competition closed. Only 240 of the 4750 tickets remained at the end and the entry list was made ready for the team.
Then, it was time to run the draw.
As always, we use a Google Random Number Generator to determine the winner. Craig test the system to show the viewers and then it was time. Setting the criteria between 1 and 4750, with one simple click – the fate of the 911 was decided.
The whir of numbers stopped as quickly as it had started. the screen showed 1766. Checking the entry list, that number had been assigned to Richard Smyth.
The team gave Richard a call – as we do with all our live draws. He answered and chatted with Craig letting us into an amazing story. He had wanted a Porsche 911 since he was 9 years old and now, he has his very own 1979 Porsche 911 Targa.
Last night, Bridge Classic Cars Competitions found out who the lucky winner of the 1968 Morris Minor Van was and as always, we live streamed it on our Facebook page!
Moments before the live stream started, the classic Morris van sold out completely!
The night began with a walkaround of our new competitions building with Hayley and Freddie showing everyone watching along what we’ve got coming up and what is currently live on our Competitions website.
Then, Hayley handed over to our director Craig for a brief tour around our restoration workshop to show you a very special moment where we had 3 Jensen 541’s in for work, all in different stages of their build. From a bare chassis back from sandblasting to a full rebuilt frame and then a finished and complete 541R.
But, it was time to give the audience what they had been waiting for. Finding out just who had won the classic Morris Minor Van. So, using our random number generator and pre-published entry list the team began the process.
As Hayley input the numbers between 1 and 4199 in the number generator the anticipation built. Messages of luck were shared between total strangers on the internet wishing each other well. Then with one click of a button, the new owner had been found.
Robert Cargill had been allocated ticket 1124 – The number that had appeared on the random number generator and checked against our entry list.
After finding his details, Hayley gave him a ring live on the Facebook stream with possible the best reaction we have ever had to a competition. Robert and his wife were absolutely ecstatic with their new classic Morris Minor!

First of all, congratulations to David! He won the 1985 Jaguar Sovereign V12 during last night’s draw with ticket number 2631 but, along with the live draw the team gave all of our audience a look around some of the other cars stored in our new building.
The Jaguar Sovereign V12 was the main event of the evening but it was surrounded by either current or possible future competition cars and some amazing restoration/customer cars we keep on site. Hayley and Freddie went all through the classic Jaguar showing everyone watching along on the live stream the fine details and modern luxuries which came as standard when the Sovereign V12 was new.
Then, Hayley handed it over to Nick who went through a little bit about our new online classic sales platform MyClassics. An overview of how, why, what and where it exactly is and that it sits with the enthusiasts at heart, whether that be buying or selling a classic it was designed just for them.
A quick look around the fantastic and eclectic mix of classics stored in our new building from a customers 1932 Lagonda Tourer in for our incredible trim team to work on all the way to a modern Triumph Street Twin motorcycle.
But, everyone watching along wanted to know the answer to the ultimate question which hung in the air. Who did the 1985 Sovereign V12 belong to? We also wanted to find out. Heading over to the screen, the team began that process.
Using our pre-published entry lists (these are generated after ticket sales close or the competition sells out) the team verified that the tickets were within the range of between 1 and 3333. Then, it was over to the Google Random Number Generator to let lady luck take control. Hayley set the criteria and as the screen became awash with whirring numbers, the anticipation rose.
Finally, it landed on a number. 2631.
Consulting the entry list, that particular ticket number had been purchased by David Graham. The new owner of the 1985 Jaguar Sovereign V12. So, as we do with all our live draws we gave him a ring to give him the good news.
When David answered, he was thrilled. He had entered for the Sovereign after always wanting a classic to join in with his friends who restore and enjoy classics up in Scotland and now he has his Jaguar V12 to get involved in the fun!

Last week the Bridge Classic Cars team loaded up our 1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 and headed out to the H&H Auctions at the Imperial War Museum Duxford.
Although the Viper was entered into the auction, it also gave the team a chance to look around this amazing venue and the incredible machinery on display waiting to head over the auction block. Everything from the remnants of a very rare AC Ace to a stunning Jaguar C Type, an Audi Quattro Rally Car to a new Lamborghini Aventador.
The cars on display were truly breathtaking and all displayed inside the former RAF hangar, like a giant version of our own secure storage facility, The Hangar. There was something for everyone at the H&H Auctions, but the car that caught our eye was the 1990 Porsche 944 Turbo.
As the day progressed and the proceedings began, the cars crossed the auction block one by one. Some amazing machinery was sold that day like the Bentley Speed 6 which sold for ยฃ300,000+ and the stunning Austin Healey 3000 nearly identical to our own Big Healey for sale on MyClassics.
When the time came for the Porsche to be sold, we had to get hold of it. This beautiful example finished in Guards Red with recent work carried out and a remap of the ECU generously adding more power to the turbocharged engine.
Unfortunately, our 1995 Dodge Viper RT/10 didn’t sell. But, it just means it’s waiting to go to the right home.
As the hammer fell, we had won the bidding. So at the end of the day, we loaded up our new 944 Turbo into our trailer to bring it home to our Suffolk HQ.

Here’s what H&H’s James McWilliam had to say about our Viper:
”Wonderfully politically incorrect, the Dodge Viper was launched in January 1992. A pure American muscle car, it was conceived by Bob Lutz, Tom Gale, Francois Castaing and Carroll Shelby. Built around a tubular steel backbone frame equipped with all round double-wishbone independent suspension, vented disc brakes and power-assisted rack and pinion steering, it did without ABS or a traction control system. Extensively reworked by Lamborghini (another Chrysler subsidiary at the time), its 8 litre V10 former truck engine gained a new aluminium block and cylinder heads. Quoted as developing some 400bhp and 465lbft of torque, it was mated to a six-speed Borg Warner T-56 manual gearbox. Clad in lightweight resin transfer moulding glassfibre body panels, the targa-roofed RT/10 claimed a 0-60mph time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 165mph. Remaining in production until 2017, the Viper has long since attracted a cult following (though, later versions came with a far fuller complement of driver-aid electronics).
Finished in the eye-catching combination of Viper Red with White racing stripes and Dark Grey leather upholstery, โM2 EKOโ was imported from its native America in 2020. Riding on โchrome effectโ 18-inch alloys shod with low profile tyres, the two-seater features a removable roof panel and side windows and shows just 31,500 miles to its odometer. The steering wheel and seats are said to be in โincredibleโ condition with minimal signs of wear. Reportedly a real โhead turnerโ whenever it is seen or heard in public, the Alpine stereo has its work cut out competing with the formidable 8 litre V10 rumble which emanates from the side pipe exhausts! Offered for sale with the original driversโ pack, 2 sets of keys and V5C document. It is estimated that less than 100 Dodge Vipers are currently registered for UK road use.”

As the 1995 Dodge Viper RT10 heads from Bridge Classic Cars to the H&H Auctions, the workshop has fitted the important battery isolator.
As with all our classics and specialist cars, the workshop has fitted a battery isolator to the car. This is so when the car is being stored it won’t have any slow battery drains and also keep the car’s battery in the best possible condition with its new owner.
We get asked by a lot of our restoration clients to fit battery isolators/kill switches to cars. So, if you’re classic would benefit from this upgrade please get in touch!
Recently, Viper Auto Valet was at the Bridge Classic Cars workshop here in Suffolk, UK to prepare some of the cars we had on-site. So, we had to take the opportunity to get a photo of Viper with a Viper.
Colin had been working on cleaning, valeting and detailing our 1995 Dodge Viper after its arrival at our Pettistree HQ and the results are truly stunning.

Bridge Classic Cars recently welcomed this new arrival to our workshop in Pettistree, Suffolk. A 1995 Dodge Viper RT10. But, in the same breathe we also said goodbye to an old friend of ours.
Recently we had been offered the chance to purchase the Viper from its previous owner in Scotland. An iconic piece of supercar history, we jumped at the chance. The Vipers owner also mentioned how he had always liked the Mini 850 we had as our competition car which was owned by Keith Aldous. After putting the two in contact, it was decided. We would own the Viper and the previous owner of the Viper would be the lucky new owner of the straight cut gearboxed Mini due to Keith debating on selling the car soon anyway.
So with that, the Mini is now on its way up to Scotland to be loved and enjoyed by its new owner and the Viper made an appearance in Woodbridge when our director took the 8 litre V10 powered supercar to pick up his son from school. Surely the envy of the entire car park!
Soon Bridge Classic Cars will be welcoming this amazing 1995 Dodge Viper R/T10 to our workshop in Pettistree, Suffolk.
This rare and unique muscle car will be inspected and assessed by our in-house restoration teams over the coming weeks to check over the entire car. The V10 powered Viper is one of the most iconic supercars of the early 1990s and a rare sight in England so we’re excited to see it in our workshop.
