1947 Standard Flying 14 – rewired

With a brand new wiring loom supplied to us from the guys at Autosparks, John has now successfully rewired the entire car from front to back. The existing wiring was questionable in places, patching up would not have been the solution and would certainly not have been the safest option so although we have had to wait 8 weeks for a new loom to be made, the car is now complete, safe and ready to return home.

Standard Flying 14 Clogged Oil Filter

We believe the oil filter of our 1947 Standard Flying 14 may not be working to the best of it’s ability. Compared alongside a new oil filter you can see just how clogged up the existing filter has become.

This will be replaced with a brand new one which will certainly move us one step further forward with improving the running of the car.

1947 Standard Flying 14 now in for work to commence

Currently in our workshops awaiting a full re-commission, here we have our 1947 Standard Flying 14.

Work will commence once all of the parts have been sourced from the guys at the Standard Motor Club. The Standard Motor Club are a very exclusive club with parts only being made available to members of the club and owners of the Standard collection. Lucky for us, the owner of our 1947 Standard Flying 14 is a member and is able to assist with the parts required.

Recommissioning our 1947 Standard Flying 14

Work will now begin on recommissioning our 1947 Standard Flying 14. We also need to pay close attention to some wiring issues that have arisen. A full and thorough check over is required to get her running and sounding like she should.
