Mark 2 Transit In The Paintshop

Our Ford Transit MkII Tipper has spent some time in the Bridge Classic Cars paintshop with classic car technician Chris.

Chris has been prepping and priming the vehicle ready for it to be painted in the near future. This classic work vehicle continues to make good progress through its restoration with us.

Before entering the paintshop, our Mark 2 Transit spent some time in the fabrication bay with other Chris who made some repairs to the metalwork.

A Quick Paint Job

We recently had an MG PA in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop so we could complete some paint work on it.

While this beautiful classic was with us, classic car technicians Mauro and Chris made the car look even better than it already did with some paint repairs made and completed.

More Prep Work

Classic car technician Alan has continued his work preparing our 2022 Bridge C-Type Replica for its new coat of paint.

Now that the new colour scheme has been confirmed, the filler and panel levelling continued as our C-Type Replica continues to make good progress through the Bridge Classic Cars workshop.

Paint Repairs

Our 2001 Ford Cougar has spent a bit of time in the Bridge Classic Cars paintshop with technician Chris.

Chris has been completing some paint repairs on the front wing of the car and, as you can see from the images below, this has made an already cool car look even better.

It looks like our Cougar will go into our Director Gordan’s personal collection for now and it is great to see it go to a good home.

Stripping Down A Spitfire

Classic car technician Rob has been continuing his work on our 1976 Triumph Spitfire. He has been stripping down the chassis ready for it to be sandblasted.

The underseal was scraped off the underbody to ensure the best results possible are achieved during sandblasting. The doors of our Spitfire were also stripped down and the US spec side impact bars were removed and the doors were returned to European spec.

Finally, the rear wings were removed before the car left the workshop heading to the sandblasters.

A Change Of Specifications

Our 2022 Bridge C Type Replica is going through some changes. The initial plan was for it to have a black exterior with red seats. However, Gordon has made the decision that it will actually look better with light green paintwork and green seats and interior.

This looks to be a good decision and one that will make the finished car look even better than it was going to be in black.

All Painted

After going through its prep and prime process with classic car technician Alan, our 1964 Amphicar 7 70 has had its new coat of paint applied.

As you can see from Alan’s photos below, the car is looking good now that its paintwork is back in top condition.

Bodywork Begins

Now that our Ford Transit MKII Tipper has come to the end of its time in the fabrication bay, it has been moved over to the Bridge Classic Cars paintshop ready for work on its body to begin.

It’s always an exciting time when one part of a restoration is finished and a new one is about to start.

Our Transit Tipper will likely be in the paintshop for a little while but, by the time it leaves, it will be looking very different.

Morris Minor Repairs

After suffering from an unfortunate bump while at home, our 1960 Morris Minor has been needing some repair work completed by classic car technician Mauro.

Mauro has been focused on repairing the front wing that seemed to take the brunt of the impact. Hopefully, it won’t be too much longer before the fully recovered Minor goes back home to its owner.

Painting Our Transit Bed Frame

The bed frame of our Ford Transit MKII Tipper has been in the Bridge Classic Cars paintshop with Mauro, as he has been giving it a fresh coat of paint.

After applying epoxy primer to the bed frame, he went on to paint it black using DTM paint.

Once the freshly painted bed frame is reunited with the rest of our Transit Tipper, it will be a positive step forward on the restoration journey of the vehicle.

Stripping A Classic Transit

Our 1972 Ford Transit Tipper may have only been in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop for a few days but classic car technician Mauro has already been hard at work stripping it, ready for repairs to be made to its paint.

Once the strip down is complete, work will continue on our Transit Tipper and we are very much looking forward to seeing its great looks improve further.

Amphicar Back In Paint

Classic car technician has been hard at work on our 1964 Amphicar 770 again.

After undergoing several rounds of repairs on its body, it’s great to see the car now starting to come back together again.

Wheels Painted

After recently being primed, the wheels of our Ford Transit MKII Tipper have been back in the Bridge Classic Cars paintshop with classic car technician Mauro.

He has been painting the wheels in preparation for them to eventually go back onto the restored vehicle when the time is right.

Mauro also painted various other components in DTM satin black.

Our Transit Tipper continues to progress through its restoration journey and this is set to carry on.

Painting Our TR6

Classic car technician Mauro has been painting our 1973 Triumph Tr6. Before he put a new coat of paint on this eye-catching classic car, he prepped the vehicle before priming it.

Once prepped and primed, Mauro painted the TR6 so it is now looking better than ever.

After Mauro had finished with our TR6, Lydia took over and got to work on the interior carpets.

Transit Wheel Hubs

Classic car technician Alan has had the wheel hubs of our Ford Transit MKII Tipper in the Bridge Classic Cars Paintshop.

After the hubs had been primed and painted, they look much improved and will no doubt look great when they are finally put back on the vehicle as its restoration continues.

TR6 Hood Frame Improvements

Our 1973 Triumph TR6 has been in the Bridge Classic Cars Paintshop with classic car technician Alan who has been painting the hood frame.

This is already an attention-grabbing car thanks to its yellow colour and improvements like this go a long way in making it even more admirable.

Painting Jensen Parts And Interior Work

Classic car technician Alan has been busy painting several components of our 1959 Jensen 541R. These were then passed on to Rob who is continuing his work rebuilding this beautiful classic car.

As well as the main body of the car being rebuilt, our interior trim team, Brian and Lydia, have been working hard on the interior. Brian has been cutting and fitting the carpet while Lydia has been getting the boot sorted.

A New Speedo

Classic car technician Jonn has been giving our 1986 Volkswagen Golf GTI Cabriolet a final check over before it leaves us ready to be delivered to its new owner, who was lucky enough to win it through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.

Jonn installed a new GPS speedo in the car before testing it. The test was a successful one and the speedo worked beautifully.

Our Golf GTI also spent a small amount of time in the paint shop with Mauro as he freshened up a couple of areas of paint too.

The Rebuild Begins

Delilah, our 1974 Volkswagen Beetle has been in the care of classic car technician Chris as he begins the job of putting it back together.

After having some repair work completed and being painted, Delilah is now coming towards the end of her time in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop and we are very excited to see her return home to her owner very soon.

Work Continues On Our Transit

Classic car technician, Chris has been continuing work on our Ford Transit MKII Tipper.

He has been repairing various issues on the chassis and bodywork ready for the restoration of this hard-working commercial vehicle to continue.

Changing Colour

It hasn’t been long since our 1963 Bentley S3 Continental Coupe entered the Bridge Classic Cars workshop but, already, classic car technician Chris has begun the process of painting it.

After prepping the car, Chris got to work and our Bentley is already on its way to looking great!

Amphicar Progress

Our 1964 Amphicar 770 continues to make progress through its restoration here in the Bridge Classic Cars workshop.

Classic car technician Alan has taken some photos of some of the work that has been completed on the car as it prepares to move another step closer to being able to go back home to its owner in the future.

Painting Our Sierra

Our 1989 Ford Sierra XR4x4 has been in our personal collection for a little while but, that will soon be changing, as it is set to become a competition car through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.

In preparation for that to happen, it has been in the paint shop with classic car technicians Chris and Mauro.

After the car was prepared for paint, it spent some time in the paint booth while it was painted in its great looking red.

Transit Repairs

Classic car technicians Steve and Monty have been working on the restoration of our Ford Transit Tipper MKII.

Steve cleaned the glove box and sprayed the corner brackets as well as cleaned and sandblasted the gear lever. He also sandblasted the steering arm ready for painting.

While Steve was working on the interior components of the transit, Monty was working on repairing some of the panels that needed attention.

Refurbished Wheels

After the wheels of our 1958 Austin Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite were refurbished, classic car technician Mauro put them back onto the car.

Refurbished wheels make a big difference to the final look of a classic car and, as you can see from the photos below, our Frogeye wheels are no exception to this.

Our 1958 Austin Healey ‘Frogeye’ Sprite will soon be available to win through Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.

No More Cowboys

Since our 1977 Lambretta Jet 150 came into the Bridge Classic Cars workshop, there has been a lot of discussion about whether the vinyl cowboy stickers should be left on or removed before it goes live on Bridge Classic Cars Competitions.

In the end, it was decided to remove them during the preparation process of the classic scooter. After the stickers were removed, classic car technician Mauro completed some welding repairs and some filler work before priming the side covers ready for paint.

Once the freshly painted panels go back on our classic scooter, it will be one step closer to going live on the Bridge Classic Cars Competitions website.

Ready To Go Back Together

Our 1974 Volkswagen Beetle is coming to the end of its stay in the Bridge Classic Cars paint shop. Before it leaves though, Chris has been finishing the painting of our classic Beetle known as Delilah.

After it came out of the paint booth and Chris had worked his magic, you can see from the photos below that the new coat of paint has made the already beautiful Beetle even more eye-catching.

We are certainly looking forward to seeing Delilah continue on her restoration journey with us and seeing her eventually go back home to her owner.
