Jon began work on our 1993 Ford Escort XR3i by getting the car onto the ramp to carry out the cambelt and exhaust replacement. He removed the top cover and repositioned the power steering and coolant header tanks to allow access. Once the cambelt work was complete, he refitted the covers and lower trim, then ran the engine to check all was operating correctly.
He then turned to the exhaust system, stripping out and removing the catalytic converter and front pipe. All mating surfaces were cleaned thoroughly, sealant was applied, and the new catalytic converter and front pipe were fitted and securely fastened. The engine was run and tested, and the car was then taken outside, brought up to temperature and road tested, with everything performing as it should.
