Work on our 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante, carried out by Pete, involved addressing issues with a replacement panel that failed to align and fit to the expected standard. Prioritising quality, the panel was removed and replaced. The result is a precise body line around the wheel arch and sill, with the door aperture now blending in smoothly. Only a minimal skim of filler will be needed to eliminate minor work defects. This repair offers significantly improved strength and durability compared to a previous riveted and alloy MIG-welded repair performed elsewhere, having now been seam welded using the TIG welding technique.

Attention has also turned to the inner steel sections of the wheel arch. Pete began by stripping away layers of underseal, which unfortunately exposed several corroded areas. These will be the next focus of the repair process, continuing methodically around the vehicle to ensure a thorough and comprehensive restoration.
