Thanks to our friends at Decoy Studios, we heard that BIIRD would be performing a live session at our local pub, The Kings Head here in Woodbridge. Formed in 2024, the all-female Irish folk band describes itself as “an Irish traditional music collective collaborating with Ireland’s leading designers and stylists to change the perception of trad worldwide.”
The 11-piece group first gained major attention on St Patrick’s Day 2024, when they performed to a crowd of 10,000 at London’s Trafalgar Square. Since then, they have appeared at Belfast TradFest, the Galway International Arts Festival, and All Together Now, as well as on Ireland’s flagship talk show, The Late Late Show.
In 2025, BIIRD joined Ed Sheeran’s Loop Tour across New Zealand, Australia, and North America as a support act alongside fellow Irish artists Amble and Aaron Rowe.
Most recently, in May 2026, the band was announced as one of the support acts for Westlife’s 25th Anniversary World Tour.
