The split edges on our 1969 Aston Martin DB6 Volante have now been seam welded, with a significant amount of corrosion removed in the process.
Previous poor repairs and existing damage are being addressed as part of the work.
The number plate recess has been split and removed to allow for further repairs, during which splits were discovered along the seams on both sides, along with cracks in the internal structure. These issues, if left untreated, would eventually lead to paint splitting and therefore require rectification.
Corrosion, metal fatigue cracks, and holes in the main body have also been filled. These areas will be dressed back and blended into the surrounding bodywork.
