Jon, one of the Bridge Classic Cars restoration technicians, carried out an appraisal of our 2006 Lotus Elise Sports Racer, beginning with a quick check and road test before returning the car to the workshop to continue the inspection on the ramp. He removed the front covers and placed two large batteries in the front to maintain balance while the car was lifted. Once raised, he removed the rear under shields, checked the gearbox level, and took off the rear wheels. Each wheel, along with the bolts, was cleaned, and the rear discs were cleared of corrosion where the holes had become blocked. The wheels were then refitted and torqued correctly, and the tyres were inflated to the proper pressures to complete this stage of the check.

Jon also carried out several minor repairs. He tightened all screws in the centre console, making it more secure, and lubricated the horn push in the steering wheel, operating it repeatedly until it functioned reliably every time.
