Two Nissan Qashqai e-POWER cars have driven all the way from the very bottom of the UK (a place called Land’s End) to the very top (a place called John O’Groats). That’s 837 miles, and they did it using just one tank of fuel!
What makes this car special?
The Nissan Qashqai e-POWER is a type of hybrid car. That means it uses both petrol and electricity to drive. It is different to other hybrid vehicles, though, as the petrol engine doesn’t move the wheels. Instead, it powers an electric motor, which moves the car. It’s like a petrol-powered battery charger!

How long did it take?
The journey took two days and about 18 hours of driving in total. And, amazingly, after reaching the finish line, the car still had enough fuel to go even further!
Why is this a big deal?
- The car used fuel very cleverly, averaging 75 miles per gallon.
- That’s even better than an older diesel version of the same car, which did the same trip back in 2007 but needed a bigger tank.
- This new model was smoother, cleaner, and more efficient.
What’s inside the car?
The engine uses a special design called “STARC” that helps it waste less energy and make the most out of every drop of fuel.
Plus, the new Qashqai comes with cool extras like:
- Google apps built into the dashboard,
- A smart driving helper called ProPILOT,
- And you only need to get it serviced every 20,000 km!
Cars like this could help us use less fuel, make fewer emissions, and travel more efficiently. That’s good news for the planet.
