Jonn carried out work on the passenger’s door window of our 1987 Mercedes 500SL. He located the glass and the rear section runner, but as the original fixings could not be found at the time, he cut down two 6mm bolts to use in their place. The channel was fitted and greased to ensure smooth movement, and the glass was then installed into the door.
Using a power probe, Jonn lowered the window regulator and secured the glass to it by bolting it in place. He then adjusted the position of the channels and runners to achieve proper alignment. The window was cycled up and down several times to check the operation. Final adjustments were noted to be pending, to be completed once the window surround and rubber seals are installed.
