Jonn investigated an exhaust blow on our 1984 Morgan 4/4, traced to the joint between the manifold and downpipe. He applied heat to release and remove the downpipe nuts and studs, then cleaned both mating surfaces as thoroughly as possible given the limited access. The starter motor was removed in preparation for fitting a new unit. Jonn also cleaned the bolts and used a thread repair tool to clean out the stud holes and refresh the threads on the studs themselves.
