Here is what Jonn has been up to with our 1980 MG Midget:
Road tested to check brakes. Operation confirmed as satisfactory; due to the absence of servo assistance, firm pedal pressure is necessary, but braking performance is as expected with new components.
A noise was noted on full right-hand lock. Vehicle returned to workshop and placed on ramp. Rear brakes adjusted and wheels correctly tightened. Play found in nearside front track rod end, with slight movement also present in the rack.
Track rod removed and stripped, and gaiter removed to allow inspection of the rack. Awaiting arrival of new track rod end before reassembly and final road test.
