The U-bolts securing the steering rack to the cross-member of our 1977 Ford Granada were removed. It was discovered that the U-bolts had been fitted to the incorrect sides, with the offside U-bolt aligning properly with the nearside mount, while the nearside U-bolt did not fit as intended.
The U-bolts were swapped over to their correct positions, allowing for proper fitment, and then securely fastened. The front under shield was refitted and secured in place.
Attention was also given to the driver’s door handle, which was lubricated and worked through to ensure smooth operation. Additionally, a section of black carpet was cut and adhered beneath a slit in the driver’s footwell carpet for a tidy finish.
The front wheel arch trim was also replaced.
