Remove all sump bolts and release the block. Undo engine mounts and steering rack mounts and jack up the engine.
Turn engine over by hand so crank journal is horizontal. This allows us to remove the sump.
John has then called upon the assistance of our engine partners Coltec to look at a repair.
Rub down and clean block surface. Clean all the bolts and find a new gasket that we have in amongst our spares.

Clean sump surface and stick gasket on and leave to set over lunch.

Apply the sealer to sump and refit the sump. Fit all bolts and secure all 28 in turn. Remount steering rack and secure. Lower engine into mounts and tighten. Fill with oil, run and test. Top up oil and check for leaks and all seems to be fine.
